We were told they would only take furniture which was fine. They sent three teenagers who threw my parents possessions in a truck-didn't take all that was supposed to go- didn't speak to me-and left without a word. I asked them to come back for all that was meant to be donated. They did not and sped off! Very disappointing to know your volunteers are in such a hurry to be somewhere else.

S.D. Allen Ministry & Missions is a wonderful organization, that provides local families in need with furniture.

I've been fortunate to have the opportunity to donate various items (used couches, lounge chairs, beds) a few times times to the S.D. Allen Ministry over the past couple years. The ministry stores these items (and others) in its warehouse until they find a local family-in-need who could use the furniture.

I have also volunteered on a couple of occasions. One time, we met at the S.D. Allen building and rode in their moving truck to help them pick up furniture being donated, and then we delivered it to a family who lost their furniture in an electrical fire. Another time, we delivered beds and bed frames that the S.D. Allen Ministry had purchased to a family of five who had been sleeping on a single mattress on the floor.

Please consider donating any used furniture you are considering throwing out here, I promise it will be put to good use!
