My sweet dad has been at McGuffey for several months. I've dealt with numerous rehab facilities and nursing homes over the years with both of my parents. This one has cared for my dad while I can't. He needs 24/7 care, and I think McGuffey and staff are amazing. !They are caring, it's clean, and they put up with crazy family members like me. I want to specifically mention Mackenzie, the admission coordinator, who is not only extraordinary but also clearly cares about the residents. I feel very comfortable knowing my dad is safe. Huge thank to all of his nurses and staff...

I cannot recommend McGuffey Healthcare. Number 1, the food is worse than disgusting, Everyone I talked to said the same thing. I put my brother in June 2024, everything was fine for the first 3 months, then it went from bad to worse. They changed staff and they hired people that didn't know what to do. My brother had a mental disability which caused his hands to shake. They would bring in his meals and just leave it, they offered no help in feeding him. He started showing signs of neglect. (I was in the process of moving him, but didn't get him out fast enough). He started falling and the nurse would call and say he fell but was ok. On December 31 they called and said he had a fall, I demanded they send him to the hospital. I lived 2 hours away and it would take me a little while to be there. He was admitted for head trauma, after a complete blood panel, then found out he had Sepsis, pneumonia ( they told me he had a pneumonia vaccine) The nursing home changed his meds which they were told by his psychiatrist that his meds should stay the same and and do not miss any pills. There were signs of abuse with all the bruises all over his body. He had lost weight. All of his blood levels were abnormally low. This would have been prevented with proper care. He was a disabled veteran. He should have been respected. All of the lack of help eating, lack of checking his blood levels, which I requested every 90 days which was not done. They will tell you they are trained to handle mental patients (my brother was fine as long as he stayed on his meds. On January 24, 2025 my brother passed away. McGuffey Healthcare aided in his death, If they did what the told me they would do he would still be alive. I called McGuffey several times to get the balance of the account I set up for him to get haircuts and snacks. They have kept the money. I guess they only care about the money and not the patients well being. I would run from this place as fast as I could.

Please consider other facilities. McGuffey never kept me updated on my father's conditions, they did not update hospice, they did not tell me his testing results or when he was hospitalized. I had to argue to get him treatment for cellulitis... not ALL the staff is bad but the bad outweighs the good. I saw lots of poor hygeine, dirty clothes on residents, dirty linens being slept in. That has been consistent since June 2024. I reported my concerns several times to several different levels of management and nothing changed. Consider a different home if you have any other options. See the attached photo of the linens they let my Dad sleep in for 2 days

My brother in law was out there from B'hm VA hospital and they didn't treat him right!! Went in at about 1:30-2pm on a Sunday 12-15-2024, his bed had no cover on it, the reason according to they was well we will get in a little bit. He had absolutely no water in his room, they brought him his food in and left it, didn't help him with it or encourage him to eat. I don't know who or how they got the reviews they got but got my family they totally are the most uncaring people I've seen!!!! If you have a loved one up there please go check on them, because these don't care about them. They had plenty of help standing in the around the nurse's station talking. It's really sad you can not trust a place that is suppose to care for the elderly. SAD place!!!!

My dad and I went a couple of weeks ago to check the place out and sign paperwork for my mom to get into rehab. First glance the staff were very nice and answered all of our questions. There was no bad odor anywhere in the facility. The patients from the nursing home and rehab parts were very nice and welcoming. The facility was clean and saw no problems.
Now two weeks later, my mom is happy with the staff and her progress. Still very clean and the staff just as nice as can be they even like coming in to see us when we are there and joke around with us. I do not understand the negative comments that others have provided but this place is awesome.

I don’t understand the negative reviews here. EVERYONE, from the business office, front desk, kitchen, social worker, nurses, CNA’s, doctors, physical therapists, to housekeeping staff treated us all with compassion and had an such positive demeanors. Daily we were greeted with smiles and everyone bent over backwards to make my Dads 2 month experience in Rehab here truly healing. (He was T-boned by an 18-wheeler). Me and my Mom came every single day. I’ve dealt with other rehabs in the area (Northside, Jacksonville) in the past with another family member and McGuffeys is hands down #1!!! Me and my family are forever grateful!

Absolute worst nursing home or rehab facility I've ever seen. Nurses would take 40+ minutes to respond to the call button and half the time we had to go tot he station to get the nurses to leave the nurses' station

This place is disgusting. I am thankful that I got my sister out of there before they let her die. She went there for therapy after hip surgery. She had to poop and pee on the bed because they would not get her up to go the bathroom. She would lie in her poop sometimes for hours before they would come in to clean her up. She ended up with ESBL infection and almost died before they sent her to the hospital even after I had ask the nurse to do a test for a UTI. She also developed pneumonia while there.
