I'm new to the area and just went on my first guided hike at beautiful Rainbow Mountain in Madison. Matt Shaw was our wonderful guide. He explained native and invasive, edible and non edible fauna, the rocks etc. He told us these mountains were actually under water as this was the coast line originally! Who knew! Matt made the hike really interesting and fun.
There were all ages hiking with opportunities to take a break as well. I do recommend walking poles for the newbies (like me)!

Probably one of the most underrated and under appreciated entities in the Huntsville vicinity. They are basically the only reason there are any natural places left here. Without them, developers would have paved over every single square foot of land decades ago, as they are now with the unprotected land.
