Went to look for a kitten on 2/27/25 and left with a 1 year old cat. He is the most loving and awesome kitty. His name was Purralon and we named him Buddy. I went in the cat room and he came right to me. I picked him up and he hugged me with both paws around my neck. Love at first sight. Great experience. Staff was very helpful.

Adopted a cat from this place on 10/29/24. I dropped it off in 11/18/20 for them to take it and get it spayed. I woke up to a voicemail 2 days later saying they would not be giving me my cat back as it was under weight and had drainage coming from her eyes. So when I went down to get her the manager met me outside and said I would not be getting her back that the vet said she was in bad shape and they have to look out for the animal. I tried to explain that she hadn’t lost weight I pick her up everyday I would know if she did. They claim she was 7lbs when we got her and now only 4lbs 22 days after adoption and the drainage in her eyes was pretty much somehow my fault. I explained that I took her to a vet and the vet said everything looked good just the drainage in her eyes needed to be taken care of. I proceeded to show the manager the eye solution I had been using to fight against it. She smarted of that that isn’t what a vet would prescribe, which I replied no some people can’t afford everything the prescribe they told me to go get this from Walmart. I asked her how old she thought the cat was because when I adopted her on her info paper on the grass window it said she was 1 1/2 years old but bit on her other information sheet we got when the adoption was final it said she was only 6 months old. She didn’t have a response she only asked if the vet told me how old she was and then I explained what I said in the last sentence and told her it was bull****. She said there is nothing I can do I’m not getting the cat back and then walked off like a child. So I called the vet in which I took my cat to get her rabies shot 8 days ago and they said that there was no way she weighed 7lbs when I got her that she was fine when I brought her in that if the tech who gave her the shot thought she was underweight something would’ve been said about it. I’ll attach pictures off her below and you can make your decision whether or not she looks like she is being mistreated. But I would not recommend adopting from her the way they take care of the cats is pretty bad anyways and I basically paid for them to spay her and readily her for another $100

This lil black baby boy was named Leo at this shelter, he had been there the longest aside from a cow cat named Stiffler. I wasn’t there to see either of them because we had just lost a tuxie named Carl 3 weeks ago. The tiny tabby pictures is franky. We brought Leo home 2 days ago and these guys are BEST friends! I can’t be more grateful to the 2 ladies who helped me! I didn’t catch eithers name but shoutout to ms curly hair n brown hoodie. Lil Leo has been renamed Kevin and he’s SO HAPPY. He drools when he makes biscuits and he gets so much playtime with brother. They really are perfect together and they have so much fun in everything! They even want to eat beside each other. I can’t recommend this place enough! The staff clearly loves and takes care of all these babies, Ms brown hoodie was even on the floor of the room Kev was in playing with them! If I ever need another baby I know where I’m going!

I originally went there to see a dog that was a few years older (I think she was 7 years old), she seemed afraid of men, when I explained the reason I wanted a smaller dog, one of the young ladies said I have someone I want you to meet. She went back into the kennels and brought me one of the smallest puppies I had ever seen in my life. I knew right then she was meant for me. Fast-forward 9.5 months, she has been everywhere with me, and she has traveled to more than 20 states with me. The adoption process was simple, $100 included her first 3 rounds of shots, spaying, rabies, and microchipped!! There are great people working there and truly care about the animals they take care of. Thank you for introducing me to my fur baby! Although she is full of p##@ and vinegar, I wouldn't trade her for the world!!

Update: Happy Holidays!! The last picture was taken right around Christmas 2024. She has grown up so much, and as I said, I wouldn't trade her for the world!!

I love my cat and very grateful for the people that work here and care for animals BUT i don’t recommend adopting from here. I was told my cat was microchipped and I took him to the vet and he was in fact not microchipped. I was told it was because i didn’t have my cat fixed there but i made them well aware my vet would be fixing him and that i would give them the papers for that once it was completed. When i called to let them know my cat wasn’t microchipped which is included in the adoption fee i was told there was nothing they could do about it.. i do not recommend..

I took a dog there because i’m pregnant and cannot afford another pet nether do i have the time to take care of another one, this dog was given to me at a local store and they said if i didn’t take it they would throw it out so being heavy hearted i took it, well i went to the Humane Society and 1st off they were rude as could be and also would not take the dog in because they said i was not in there limits, i live right off gadsden and they said they only take dogs in from attalla and gadsden and to go find somewhere else. It’s snowing outside and now i have no where to put this dog thanks to them. %100 percent do not go there unless you want your dog to be treated terribly! Oh and not to mention they want to charge up to $200 to take a stray in, and once again VERY VERY rude.

Jan25 2010 we adopted our sweet stoney 💗 he brought so much joy to our lives. August 7th 2021 he crossed the rainbow Bridge. Our hearts are so broken and our sweet man is so missed. We feel so blessed to have had him in our lives 11 yrs. Our lives have forever changed.
