Having a loved one in hospice isn’t a pleasant experience. However, if you should find yourself in this situation, the Hospice of West Alabama is the best place they could be. It takes a special kind of person to handle this kind of work, but the nurses and staff here are truly amazing. They treat my father gently and with compassion. The way they take care of Dad, as well as treat the whole family, really helps us to be able to focus on spending these last days with him. I’d also like to mention how clean and comfortable the room and the rest of the facility is. This isn’t a place you want to be, but if your circumstances necessitate hospice care, you could do no better than the wonderful people here at HWA.

My wife is currently at West Alabama Hospice. She has been here over a week and as I sit here beside her and write this review I find myself searching for words to describe this staff and this facility. Words such as amazing, incredible, caring and compassionate are certainly accurate but it’s just hard to describe this experience unless you have a loved one here.. We have bragged on and thanked everyone that has had a hand in this devastating experience we are going through. I believe a lot of these folks would do what they do whether they were paid or not. I’ll tell you this.. there will be a special place in Heaven for each and every one of them. God Bless You All as you go about your daily duties. Also May God bless all the good people that contribute to keep this facility going forever.

My beautiful wife passed away at hospice on August 15, 2022. The staff there were absolutely wonderful and they took very good care of my wife and made her as comfortable as they could. I’m seeing the grief counselor Donna there once a month and she is an amazing person. I really like talking to her because she gives me good advice and helps me get through my grief.

Hospice of West Alabama recently made my mom's final days on earth the most peaceful days. The team at Hospice of West AL were gentle, kind, loving , professional and truly angels on earth. The setting was like having mom at home, with fresh flowers in her room, a bird feeder outside her window, beautiful flower gardens, and a big family style kitchen that was open and inviting for us to eat in. We had her door open to the screened in porch off her room that not only provided fresh air but we were treated to the sounds of birds chirping, which was as if mom was at home on she and dad's screened in porch. The only regret that our family has is we didn't move mom to the inpatient facility sooner because the team gave not only mom's final days better, the team made our final days with mom so much better.

Hospice of West Alabama is the most comforting, peaceful place that I could ever imagine. The care that nurses here provide is beyond outstanding. I wish that everyone I met today at Hospice of West Alabama could teach all healthcare professionals lessons in caring for people. The facility and grounds are gorgeous and I am thankful that my mom is being cared for here.

My daddy was in hospice and passed away February 14th 2022. I can't say enough words that would express enough for the comfort, care, love and support from every single angel at the facility. Because that is exactly what they are "Angels sent from above" . Debbie Taylor
