Food is horrible. They feed peanut butter and jelly to grown men, half cooked chicken. Hot breakfast is only once a week, if that.

Staffing is sub par. The therapists only meet with the guys once a month. Even if they have something urgent they need to discuss regarding their sobriety, there’s no sense of urgency to help. The staff don’t really care for the needs of the individuals. If there’s an issue they just threaten to discharge the individual instead of finding a solution.

Working. The individuals can’t work for 90 days and even when they reach that time there’s stipulations to what, where and when they can work.

Overall this program is about the money and not at all about helping the individual who is seeking sobriety. I would find a different program. Not to mention that guys are still getting high INSIDE the building and staff is aware.

Update: after I wrote this review I was banned from seeing my boyfriend for 2 weeks. I contacted Salvation Army to report this particular program and nothing was done. The director reached out but to only try to convince me to remove my review and to tell me I was no longer welcome at Harbor light. She also told me my review could kill someone but I believe it will only save someone, as this place is a threat to one’s sobriety.

My boyfriend finished the program but only because his HSAO, peer support and himself worked diligently together to prepare for discharge.

At first my uncle says he was comfortable there and they didn't treat him like at other places he's been. Three months in they were putting him out. We got conflicting reasons but he said he wasn't ready to leave but they sent him home anyway to fail.

As a rehab it is terrible. It was boring. Non stop groups. No leaving on your own. No working. No phone. No payphone to use. If you want rehab goes somewhere else. If you're desperate and need a place to stay bad. Then this is an option. Stay the night or several nights I don't believe they'll turn someone down unless they have no beds.

This place is a money grabbing establishment that has done nothing more but lie and deceive their clients. This place does not stand for what it does. It would rather get your insurance pay then kick you out right after. The staff lie to you for their own benefit. And for a place that claims to give 3 meals, they do not provide a hot breakfast, and they claim oatmeal is. And the company making the food is an even bigger joke. Seriously fuxk this place.
