This is one of the worst facilities I have ever encountered. My mom was here for a little while. Starting with administration...its all trash. There is not enough staff to properly care for the residents. My mom was very sick and was always cold and was not allowed to have a heating blanket yet staff would constantly complain about her asking for more blankets. My mom was extremely weak yet staff told her if she couldn't get herself off of the toilet she would just sit there until she figured out how to get herself off of the toilet. My mom had an appointment that staff arranged transportation for...staff sent the wrong resident for my mom's appointment. The excuse was they had similar names. My mom's medication and this other residents medication also got mixed up.
Life care is a joke. This is a place that is suppose to take care of people who are sick but that definitely is not the case. It takes a special type of person to work in health care and none of the staff at life care should be working in health care.

I visit a friend in rehab quite frequently and the staff has always been very nice and helpful. After almost 2 months of living there my friend is on her way home this week and she has made some friends with the staff along the way! Thank you for all that you do! It's nice to see a facility that actually cares about their patients, keep up the great work!

My mom was there from Feb 10th to March 17th for physical therapy the best dam care team in the city. Also the Executive Director Terri Phillips goes above and beyond her job. The front desk Kandi is a sweet heart. They treat you like family.

I received this note from Franciscan Health Michigan City regarding their error they took responsibility for and after over a week of calls to Risk Management, case managers, administration (I was told everyone knew about the situation)I have received no follow up from anyone at Franciscan or Life Care (other than Life Care saying she's racked dup quite a bill): Life care center of Michigan City and
Patient has straight Medicare Insurance, and the law states patient's needs 3 midnights in a hospital
before they can be admitted into a Rehab Facility. Patient discharged from the hospital after 2 midnights
And not 3 over nights.
A Life Care Liaison stated it unfortunately fell through the cracks.
Life Care in Michigan City, Indiana states they will be taking care of any cost. Patient will not incur cost or be responsible. Patients also sharing rooms had diarrhea at the same time and caught pneumonia. I'd request copies on health and cleaning inspections before considering.

Life care is amazing, especially rehab, my mom is currently here & started rehab. She says she has no complaints & that everyone is very nice, & sweet!

First time at this facility. My aunt is there. Everything was nice workers nice and helpful. Auntie was doing well. First impression very good. Auntie was clean and sitting in chair.

Clean facility, no odor at all when you walk in the door! Front desk girl was very kind and attentive! Nicole the admissions director is soooo helpful and caring. Jill was so great on explaining the process to my family at the hospital . The nursing staff is A1. I highly recommend life care center of Michigan city.
