I am extremely disappointed with the lack of competence and communication at Inland Valley Regional Center. Our experience has been nothing short of frustrating, especially after transferring from Harbor Regional, where our previous service coordinator was proactive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in my son’s needs.

Our first service coordinator at Inland had just been hired and clearly lacked any knowledge of available services or autism itself. I was patient, understanding that she was new, but after an entire year of nearly zero communication, it became clear that this was not just an adjustment period—it was negligence.

During our second meeting, I gained no new information beyond what I already knew. She mentioned applying for Medi-Cal and assured me she would handle the waiver paperwork. Nearly two years later, I have yet to hear anything back. My attempts to check on the progress have been met with the news that my son has a new service coordinator—one who never introduced himself, does not respond to my questions, and has failed to complete even the simplest tasks, like processing a change of address.

In contrast to our previous regional center, where our SC was deeply involved in my son’s education, assessments, and transitions, Inland Valley has provided absolutely nothing. If you are a family relying on this regional center for support, prepare for delays, unresponsiveness, and an overall lack of accountability.

I submitted an application on May 2024 and I haven’t heard from no one. I went to the office on August 2024 and they told me it was send out for an assessment. Left voicemail to Veronica Lopez(Lambert) since last year like to the program manager and haven’t heard from anyone. Just today again I left a voice message to Veronica and send an email too. I also left voice message to the program manager. Now my daughter was put in hospice and let the social worker from hospice to help and she received an email saying they can’t provide no information since she’s not a family member. This office needs to be closed down because they don’t help when needed. I didn’t know about what services were provided until now. If I knew I would have done this since she was three years old. Like 11 years ago.

Our child went through the Early Start Program at the Inland Regional Center. We were fortunate to have met Danielle, the coordinator that answered our questions and provided the necessary forms. After completing the assessment through zoom, we were able to receive services on educating our child. As new parents, there was a lot that we didn't know, and we would definitely recommend for anyone with questions to reach out to them.

Doesn't see disabled people at all. Ignored my needs for help, making run circles and giving my mother more power over my life in what they want. Thought they were great once when I was a child and seeing them through the eyes of a disabled child of a worker at Big Bear's Reginal Center when we had it but now I need help wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

They did a crappy job at assessing my son. They are saying that he needs services that he obviously doesn't. They refuse to re-evaluate him until he has been receiving services for 6 months, claiming they "cant" or aren't allowed to. The services they provide are useless. Someone just comes to our house every other week and plays with him for an hour. He is just now 18 months old, but beginning at 12 months old they expected him to have the attention span of a pre-schooler. They try to force him to engage in play and when he isn't interested they keep pushing until he has a tantrum. It is always an awful experience. The workers ("teachers") are always late getting to our house (like 30-45 minutes late) and then they expect to be able to be able to stay in our home for the entire session, with no consideration for anything we had planned for the rest of the day. Our last session with them was canceled 4 minutes before it was supposed to begin because the teacher had severe flu symptoms and then she wanted to re-do the session the very next day, as if she wouldnt still be contagious. When I told them that i was done and didn't want to be involved in their services anymore they assured me that it was a "voluntary" program, but then threatened to tell my social worker that I was refusing the services (I had already discussed the issue with the social worker and she was on board with discontinuing services, because like i said, he obviously doesnt need it). Nevertheless, they have pressured me into continuing with their program, implying that I am doing something wrong by choosing not to continue, which makes me wonder what their underlying motive is...

As a former client of theirs, I'm going to tell you right now that they are corrupt, incompetent, and don't give a damn about their clients - it's all about the money! And from reading some of the recent reviews, I see not much has changed.

I'll just say that as a young kid in the early 2000s, I had gotten an autism diagnosis from IRC. But a little less than a year after I got this diagnosis, one of their employees suggested I get re-evaluated because he didn't believe that this diagnosis was correct, but I never was. Makes me wonder how many other people have gotten misdiagnosed!

The only time I ever saw or heard from these people was the yearly visits to my house. When I looked through my records recently, I also discovered that all of my IEPs had just been copied and pasted from the previous year!

Throughout my time in school, despite the fact that I got good grades and did fairly well, I was often placed in remedial classes that I didn't need and my education suffered!

There were, at least I think, pretty clear and obvious signs that I was going through hell at home and needed help, but did they care? Did they do anything? Of course not! IRC did absolutely nothing for me the entire time I was a client of theirs except make my life hell! And as soon as I graduated high school, they were basically like "Okay, you're on your own now, see ya!"

Inland Regional Center: ruining lives since 1972! šŸ˜ƒšŸ‘ Seriously, this place needs to be shut down.

Do your kids a favor and do NOT bring them here!

I’ve been the primary caregiver for my nonverbal autistic sister following the passing of our mother. As of yesterday, it’s been two years that my sister’s been relying upon me, and IRC has done nothing whatsoever to aid my sister. I’ve inquired about speech therapy, physical therapy for her nerve/muscle issues, assistance with her medical/dental issues, assistance with finding day programs or respite care, etc. and I’ve been left to navigate everything on my own.
Three different case workers in the last two years have each waited months upon months to return any of our calls if at all.
Our first case worker was changed due to a disagreement about wanting to remove my sister from an assisted living home after suspicious bruising was present on her arms. The home also lied to me on a constant basis and kept me away from my sister for almost two months. My reports didn’t go unfounded as the home in question was eventually investigated. After this, I raised a complaint with our case worker’s supervisor, and I was told ā€œIRC is a voluntary program. Your sister doesn’t necessarily need to be a client.ā€
I was left dumbfounded.
The last worker failed to put in necessary referrals after weeks and weeks of waiting, and then she left on maternity leave without saying a word to us.
Our most recent worker never once made contact with me after the switch.
When I decided to finally reach out to her after several weeks, she was the least bit helpful. I was told that my sister isn’t able to attend a day program, and that she isn’t able to receive any out of home respite care at all, although I have a ten year old son and I’m due to deliver via cesarean in January. I was even told that my sister would not qualify for an increase in respite care hours to help accommodate her care while I recover from surgery.
Besides coming to my home once a year and asking the same pointless questions, I have no clue what IRC really does to assists their clients. IRC is the one entity that is supposed to help advocate for my sister’s wellbeing and they have been completely USELESS. I’ll be calling DDS yet again, and I’ll be filing a formal complaint with them tomorrow. After reading such horrible recent reviews, I’d also like to seek legal counsel at this point. It’s so very wrong to make a paycheck off of disabled family members while doing nothing at all to assist them or the people that care for them.
Inland Regional Center is a joke and at the rate at which they DO NOT help their clients, they should be investigated and defunded.
