As someone else said... BAIT & SWITCH. Used to be my absolute favorite thrift store. Getting really bummed at cashiers making up prices as they go, like today 3/17/25.
There are racks in the back of new merchandise coming out. Instead of marking them up before they come out, they claim they just haven't been marked yet therefore the cashier gave me the prices at check out. All of my items she told me were 7.99 each. I spent a ton of time searching through the racks to be told my items were going to cost more than the signs say.
Nobody appreciates that and if you're going to upcharge items you need to mark them - not just look at the labels when I bring them up and decide they're nice things. I'm done playing this game of the cashier decides how much it's worth. Not returning until you guys can get it together. Thrift is thrift. Stop trying to boutique everything after looking up ebay prices.
This is not boutique experience either. The store is dingy, dirty, and smelly! Found a cool radio but not paying $100 either! (with an absolute no return sticker on it) I'll take my money somewhere else

This was my 1st time shopping here. I would rather shops other thrift stores than goodwill, however after my experience I had I’m not sure if I will come back. 1st the lady at the register charged me 79.99 instead of 7.99. I went back got my refund they were nice about it and said it happens all the time 😒 then come to find out that every electronic I bought from there did not work (2 humidifiers and a fan) I called and told them that’s they don’t work and I don’t have my receipt cause they kept it when they did the refund, the lady said that’s fine to come in and she remembered me, so I go in and it ends up being some other short haired lady that was rude as ever. Told me I should of came when the other lady works(cause I know her schedule) I apologized and explained I only had time today and it was the last day I could come back. She rudely said whatever and started pushing buttons on her register handed me 20$ I went to apologize again and she rudely said yea and just kinda dismissed me and started helping the next person. I really wish I had a better experience.

I usually love to shop here but most likely will not come back to at least the location again! I set something up baby clothes that I did not want down by the puzzles becuase I was tired and just ready to get out of there and then I think her name is penny came up and said in a very mean girl voice to my mom “you know better! You need to make her go put those back”. Like first of all come up to me and not my mom and second of all you seriously had to be that rude. The workers have seem to be more rude lately and I don’t appreciate that at all! I definitely would chose the grand haven location over this one becuase the staff in grand haven are so nice and kind! I usually would not leave stuff sitting there like that but I had a bad day and now this made it worse 🥺

I'm in the middle of moving , and in the last to weeks I have donated at least a thousand dollars worth of items to your Muskegon store on Sherman . I just brought a load over today clothing suit cases , and a whole complete set of golf clubs , and carrier , and a solid oak end table with built in magazine racks . Some girl came out to collect , and I told her the table is solid oak so it's heavy but its on wheels , and she looked at it , and said she couldn't take it because there was mold on it . First and foremost there was no mold on it , there was dust on it , and her attitude was not desired when I told her it was dust . I am certified in mold , and asbestos abatement , and I know what mold is , I just think she was too lazy to put in your store , and clean it up a little bit . You can be rest assured I will never donate another thing to Hope because of this , only for the simple fact that I am disabled , and I had to carry it up a flight of stairs , and load it into the back of my truck , and she had total disrespect .

VERY RUDE, the workers kept following me around the store and kept giving me dirty looks because my baby was crying. When walking around the store I saw a group of workers standing by and talking about how loud my baby was being in the store

This thrift shop has a great selection although I feel their variety on actual articles that I want are limited. The Hope Outlet in Whitehall is a bit better but that’s not the store fault, it’s more of the donations. Still it’s a great place to find what you want or look around.

Be careful when you're buying stuff here because it can have a price tag on it but they will want to charge you twice as much and say "that's not our price tag". When I told the clerk they should take the price tag off she just laughed at me and put it back in the case with the lower price tag on. That's actually called bait and switch and it's against the law in Michigan.
