My mother (84 yrs young) recently had a medical emergency and required ambulance service to the hospital. I have only heard terrible things about Wiregrass Medical Center and I usually choose Enterprise for her care. I live in South Carolina but the decision was made to take her to Wiregrass. I wasn't happy about the decision but there wasn't anything I could do at this point, I had a 7 hour trip ahead of me.
Within probably an hour after I arrived I knew my Mom was in caring hands. We could not have asked for better medical personnel to treat her. We were in the ER a little over a day and they gave her a private room in the ER so she could rest better while they treated her and we waited for admission to get her room ready.
After getting her room on the 600 wing she continued to receive EXCELLENT care. The nurses all took time out of their busy schedules to talk with her. We never felt they were rushing to get in and get out. Such sweet, caring and loving people from the doctor's to housekeeping. After 6 1/2 days my Mom is home and on the mend. I am so thankful to all of them because this could have gone another direction.
Just give them a chance and remember they work 12 hour shifts so grace is always a good place to start.
Thank you to everyone at Wiregrass Medical Center for taking such excellent care of my Mom.

The only reason I gave them 1 star was because you have to in order to leave a review. They treat people that come in there so horrible. Instead of them treating the person for the injuries they are there for, they more worried about what the person is on. If the person is in for real pain, their pulse WILL be elevated. Just because their pulse is high doesn't always mean meth. If this is such an issue, drug test. This hospital is on the list of the worst hospitals in the country. Even if I could put a negative to the 5 stars above, that still wouldn't be enough stars. They have some Of the most unprofessional staff for a hospital. Their professionalism has been replaced by ignorance.

I just came down to visit from cc Texas and I have kidney problems it started bothering me really bad so I went to this hospital they were so kind at first they asked for my emergency contact and I gave them my boyfriends information. Then they asked what race he was and once they found out he was hispanic they started treating me horribly the nurse couldn’t even put the iv in right she put 5 different holes in my arm I looked down there was blood everywhere. I asked to wait in the lobby for a ride and so I could charge my phone I was told no I had to leave then as I was going to put my charger in my purse I pull out my blue pen the lady in the office claims I stole it from her and to give it back Very unprofessional. Called the cops on me turns out the cops had to take me to another hospital because I was overdosing off of Tylenol and I had told them I took Tylenol and ibuprofen and they still kept giving me more and more and tried to put me in jail.

My son came in and had asthma for one the wait was ridiculous knowing he couldn't breathe then on top of it the nurses were all so sweet to me now the doctor on the other hand had the wrong diagnosis which I felt but wasn't sure so we got rushed to Crestview Fl which we were supposed be coming to Pensacola Fl the two guys seemed a little weird to me but I rode and prayed that my son would be ok so on the way I kept asking was my son ok he said yes he was fine not knowing when we arrived to Crestview fl that he had been unresponsive and he didn't even mention it which was not acceptable. This was the worst experience I've ever dealt with in my life I will not return ever. this hospital needs real doctors my son would have died because of their “DOCTOR” He had him on oxygen instead of a breathing treatment it was so sad the only ones who cared were the nurses who actually saw about his care and my comfort. I will not ever recommend this hospital! And I'm new to Geneva Al expecting great things and great results from

My husband went in today for outpatient surgery. We were in and out in three hours. I've waited longer than that at a doctor's office! The staff was warm and wonderful and made him very comfortable.

Definitely want to “Thank” all the staff in the ER who took care of me Thursday 4th of July night. Everyone was so kind and helpful. I was in miserable pain from a toothache and they didn’t hesitate to help me. I am very grateful to all of you !
