I love the story here but it’s so sad that our United States would do this to its owe citizens. It really makes you think, could this happen again?! But a great tribute to those who were imprisoned by their own country.

It was an eye opening experience, and one I highly recommend others should witness first hand, in order to prevent this terrible tragedy from repeating again from our Nation's past. There are written stories and accounts from survivors located in the center that help give you a true sense of what life was really like for the detainees back then. You can also tour the grounds and see some buildings that still stand today. If you can, please visit

If you want to see what the government did to the Japanese Americans at the beginning of WW2 this is a must.
At the start of the war they were made to go to these intermittent camps. They could only bring what they could carry. Had to leave their homes and businesses. Held behind bobwire and armed guards until 1945 at the end of the war then we're given $25.00 and a ticket to return home. They lost their businesses and all that was in their homes was stolen.
Now, these camps were not like the camps the Jewish people had. The Japanese Americans were not treated like in the death camps. Go see it .

Staff are very friendly. Establishment is very clean. There is a gift shop which was nice cause they have books about what happened. They have bathrooms available that are also clean. A very interesting museum and a wonderful memorial. I was here before this center was placed up, but came up again in October around the 10th. It was a joy to see that the center is up and running well. I definitely would recommend visiting if you would like to see some of our own history in the US.
