I've been attending Open Door since March 2023. Pastor Ken is an excellent teacher. Both him and Pastor Danny are very knowledgeable, espically about knowing scripture from the Jewish perspective. I have never found anything wrong with anything they teach. I really learned a lot by the Life of the Messiah study on Wednesday nights. The people are very nice and genuine. Going to Open Door has really helped me since I was hurt at my previous church. At the time of this review I'm a 21 year old single male and I really enjoy the NEXT Young Adults ministry, as there's a very good community of young adults that attend Open Door, which is the best I've seen at churches around the same size as Open Door. I would HIGHLY recommend this church to young single and married young adults in their 20s and 30s.

We are delighted to share our experience with this exceptional church. From the moment we stepped inside, we felt an overwhelming sense of warmth and acceptance. The congregation's genuine hospitality and friendliness made us feel like we were part of its family. Open Door sets the example for how churches should operate in the current state of our county. From the thoughtfully curated sermons that blend historical context with contemporary relevance to the insightful discussions held during study groups, this church is where it’s at! What truly sets this church apart is its unwavering commitment to serving the community and making a positive impact. The outreach programs, charitable initiatives, and volunteering opportunities demonstrate a sincere dedication to helping those in need, both locally and globally
Me and my wife are grateful to have found this church, as it has enriched our spiritual journey in ways we could not have imagined.

I love my church so much! When I had lost my faith and was coming back to services to truly try and solidify my belief in Christ, Pastor Ken’s Wednesday night services on The Life of Messiah (taught from a Jewish perspective) was extremely prophetic to me and ultimately brought me back to Christ. My church family has loved me through many different phases of my life with non judge mental, loving, and open arms. I’m so proud to be apart of this church and it has been nothing short of amazing to witness the way God has used this small and somewhat off the beaten path church to work in our community and around the globe.

Have attended many Churches over the years and I finally found one that I really enjoy going to. The ministerial staff is just GREAT and they are not afraid to preach the Bible as it is written. Looking for a Church home, try this one. I really had a hard time just getting up and going to Church. Now I am there everytime the doors open. Great programs for all ages.

Before I starting going to Open Door, I thought all churches were the same. Full of judgmental people just waiting to pounce the moment you make a mistake, and I say that from experience not from speculation.

I grew up in church, and made a profession of faith when I was young, but I realized later on it wasn’t real. I spent years running from God and doing my own thing, thinking I was free to do whatever I wanted just because I repeated a prayer one time and someone told me I was saved because I said the right things.

Until I met up with my high school sweetheart who was the love of my life (now my wife). She was going to Open Door, so naturally I started going to church again.

But God used those circumstances and this church to soften my heart, change my mind, and ultimately my life. I got saved and baptized at 27 years old at Open Door. I’ve never been more comfortable and free anywhere else. I don’t mean that in an “I’m saved by grace so I can do whatever I want” kind of way. I mean that when I’m there, I’m free to be real because Pastor Ken and the people from Open Door put the main focus on what matters, love and relationship.

I know that if I make a mistake, they’re not going to cast me aside. First, they’re going to tell me the truth in love, but then I know they’ll be right there going through it with me and trying to pull me back out.

I believe this is how our Heavenly Father’s heart is towards us. I’ve personally experienced that as well. The Bible says to fear God, and I believe that. But it also emphasizes love throughout the scriptures over everything else, and that’s why we’re able to fellowship with him in the first place, because of his love (John 3:16). His love trumps everything else, and I believe that’s what we SHOULD be emulating as Christians.

I’m a stubborn, prideful man. My Father knows that. He understands what we experience and the things we struggle with, but He still chooses to love us. His love towards me in my own life is honestly the only thing that has always brought me back to Him. His love is what breaks me, and when I sit there and really meditate on how patient and kind He is towards me, It causes me to run back to Him begging for forgiveness like the prodigal son that I am.

I don’t mean to turn some review into a sermon, but I think that there are multitudes of people out there that are just like me. People that don’t understand how to differentiate between flawed human beings, and a perfect Heavenly Father.

Whatever bitterness, hurt, or pain you have that’s keeping you from seeking a loving church family is not God’s fault. I realized that through the love and open arms from my brothers and sisters at Open Door. If I tried to describe how they’ve been there for my family and I, this would be a much longer review than what it already is. Those of you that might be reading this from OD Baptist know exactly what I’m talking about.

I’m certain it will only take one visit to realize what I’ve been saying is true. The Open Door DNA mirrors God’s personality and purpose for our lives.

Open door is tucked away in a nice Prattville neighborhood. This church has childrens classes, nursery, Awana program, youth group, out reach programs, monthly senior fellowship dinners, small groups/growth groups. They have worship on Sunday mornings and meet again Sunday nights and Wednesday nights. They are very missions minded not just internationally but locally. They serve the community. So they are active in putting actions behind their teachings. I first visited Open Door In 2016 and the people were so genuinely kind. Over the years that kindness hasn’t worn off. Their kindness is not due to just being “good people” but because they have hearts driven to demonstrate the love of Christ with others and build each other up to learn and know God more personally.
