I had been evicted and was living in my car. Went there on a whim looking for a place to shower. Staff were all very compassionate and showed even more concern for my situation than I had shown myself. They provided me with lots of detailed resources for where to find shelter, food, supplies, and even financial assistance. Super LGBT friendly. If you're struggling with your well-being in almost any way and have no clue where to go, this is an amazing place to start

The YWCA's the absolute BEST place to go for women: trauma, counseling, trauma informed yoga, groups, etc. Whatever you may need, they can help because they truly do specialize in everything women!❣️🌺💔😥🎉🤩

The fact that they treated me like a dog was just the beginning of their way of controlling and destroying me further in this 2 year battle that I have in Ionia county court system. I was told they would help heal my relationship with my child and give me a voice. They continue to play games and kicked me out of building on my first visit with my son. Then closed my case for services so now I continue to not see my son. I have several times now requested what they think I did in the 5 minutes they gave me with my 12 year old son. NO ANSWER!! They are not to be trusted and stay away.

The YWCA has been such a absolutely wonderful resource for the community and I'm so grateful to have seen the way that they've associated those that I care for. They stayed late to make sure that they took care of the person that I brought there today and are always ready and willing to serve the public to the best of their ability regardless of what obstacles lay ahead of them.

Undeniably disappointed with your crisis advocate or should they even be considered that title? How awful what you allowed your staff to do to my daughter and say it was for her best interest. Lying on court documentation is not looking out for the best interest of an individual. How is suppressing a victim’s voice helping them? We sat for hours worried what happened to her & here you protect your staff. Shame on you.

I was hospitalized over one of several ongoing assaults by my partner. No help. I called for two weeks after that, several times each week, I'm working with a social worker from the police department, I've done the shelter assessment.....I called today and they have no record of any of it, including the assessment. These people are funded by whom? They absolutely have not been there in time of absolute need.

I do not feel this place treated me with dignity and respect. I do not feel I was heard and got the help I needed. They would sabotage our efforts in our court case in order to please the Social Worker’s.
The counselor I had there would mostly make passes at my husband and I do not feel that it helped my marriage with my husband. When I first started working with the counselor, he would tell me that he’s had Social Worker’s who would try and get him to destroy families because the Social Worker’s wanted him to lie for them in order to keep the families kids in their foster care system. He would make passes at my husband and tell my husband that he’s beautiful and that if my husband were to ever run into him in public, that my husband would have to come up to him.
