This nonprofit does phenomenal work in Yolo County by supporting edible gardens, hands-on experiential learning, and ag/nutritional education. As a West Sac parent with children in elementary school, I appreciate that our school garden has thrived, thanks to their ongoing support! We're very appreciative.

What an amazing nonprofit organization led by excellent Development and Communications Teams, along with the ED and the Board!
YFTF is committed to making a real difference in Yolo County by transforming young students' lives. If you want to see children visiting a farm for the first time, growing their own school gardens, harvesting their fruits and vegetables, while learning the various ways they can prepare them, then look no further. This invaluable process has given these school-aged children an appreciation of how to grow their own gardens, not to mention the effects of the elements.
YFTF also has a program that connects local farmers to two school districts, bringing more fresh produce to student meals, and teaching climate-smart farming strategies to student gardeners. We all know school lunches can use enhancement. Bringing more natural colors to their school lunches is a much better option than eating unhealthy snacks that contain synthetic food dyes.
They say to entice a child to enjoy what they're eating, make them involved in the process by teaching them healthy eating habits. YFTF does just that, starting with planting the seeds, caring for them and watching them grow, just like the children themselves. It's a win-win!
