First the good- great staff, good food, nice course layout.
Now the bad
Worst condition of any course I have ever played.
Hit the ball on the green- had to move ball so I had grass to putt in between the ball and the hole. Tee boxes all torn up. New holes hadn’t been cut for some time - fairways were deplorable.

First time playing woodlands. I really enjoy the layout. Course was in pretty rough shape. I think it’s a little overpriced for the current conditions. With that being said I can see the potential. The staff was very nice and pleasant and even the pro shop told us the course was in rough shape. Would play again when I know it’s in top shape.

I played a solo 18 tonight passing through town. The kid in the proshop warned me that the course had gotten really burnt last week in the heat…and it for sure had. The fairways were fried (as seen in the photos). The greens still rolled alright and didn’t seem to be in that rough of shape.

This course is tight af. Definitely can’t spray the ball around here. I played the tips (7,000 yards) and definitely enjoyed the layout of the course. The scenery was beautiful and the holes were unique with water, rolling hills, and the fairways were tight.

All of the staff I ran into on the course was super friendly to me. Emmitt was the cart guy that greeted me when I got there and cleaned and loaded my clubs when I left. Super cool guy.

The clubhouse and property was also really pretty.

Just tough to see a pretty course like that in such rough shape.

Would only be a 1 star if it wasn't for the employees working there. The course is tough obviously, lots of tight tee shots and blind shots. Would be fun if they put some work into it but it's in miserable shape. Not worth the $70 we wasted. Probably the worst shape course I've ever played in 20 years. Heard it's under new management, which it desperately needs. Pictures of a typical tee box and fairway

We chose Whittaker Woods for our July 2023 wedding week, from scheduling various rounds of golf for our guests and bridal party to hosting our wedding reception. I can't say enough about Rik Durkin, who met our every need. He is the most accommodating, flexible, responsive, dependable, diligent, hardworking, genuinely kind human being, and made planning our destination wedding a breeze (we live in CO). He made it clear to us every single time we spoke that he was passionate about making our day everything we wanted it to be, and singlehandedly oversaw every detail. Rik is an absolute gem.

Beyond the incredible service we received, the venue itself was perfectly elegant, clean and cool (even in July), and was easy to decorate because it is so filled with the abundant natural beauty that surrounds the reception hall and bar/patio area (which back up to the 18th fairway + green, next to the pond + fountain...). The grounds + course were immaculate (as per usual)!

The food was mouthwatering! We chose the Italian buffet... HIGHLY recommend! Rik coordinated everything with our bakery (C'est la Vie Cakes in South Bend, IN) to seamlessly deliver and serve our dream cake.

Rik also coordinated with our DJ (Jason at JR Event Group), providing specifics in advance and making arrangements seamlessly. Rik even shared his fridge space with the amazing family that handled our florals, allowing access to the venue space ahead of time so that our family could all be with us on our special day.

And as though it couldn't get any better, without listing specifics, this was an unbelievable value for our money. All of Rik's pricing is more than fair + it's clear that he makes decisions with your best interest in mind - both aesthetic and budgetary!

THANK YOU, RIK!!!

+1 for golf pro Ray Metz! He helped take over 20 strokes off my game over about 2.5 months of weekly lessons. He is a very nice and welcoming gentleman who is clearly passionate about the game and teaches in a way that is both engaging and simple to understand. The rest of the staff is also kind and welcoming - only had good experiences. Luke absolutely makes sure all customers are well taken care of. They have a nice driving range and chipping green with two bunkers to practice on. They have a practice green near the range and two near the clubhouse. The food is also great and very reasonably priced.

Overall, this is a beautiful course that presents a challenge and would recommend you check it out.

Course was in horrible shape. Weeds throughout the tee boxes and fairways. Blank areas of no grass for all 18 holes. Not worth the cost of playing; will travel further next time to find a course taken care of.
