Now that the coop is open to everyone, the selection has gotten better. It has become my "goto" shop for whole chicken, milk, bulk Kombucha on draft, granola, coffee, rice, oats and flour. Very happy that they have added bulk cleaning supplies such as dish soap, laundry detergent and even maple syrup (to clean up pancakes!).

I joined the Coop in 2019, a few months after moving back to Brooklyn from another state, and it was an amazing way to get great food walking distance from my home. The variety of fresh produce was incredible, the bulk section is particularly admirable (the dried mango is just dreamy), and the locally sourced meats were scrumptious.
More than just that, though, being part of the coop was also an incredible way to connect to the community. Through to coop I got introduced to food justice organizations, community gardens, and parenting groups. I eventually wound up joining the board and the store's management team (full disclosure!). It was incredible to feel like I was really contributing to my neighborhood.
My family has since left Brooklyn but I miss this coop every day!

A small coop that's been in the neighborhood for many years. I've been a member for a year and a half (but you don't need to be a member to shop here).

Lots of great organic produce and groceries, along with kombucha, bulk items, teas and other miscellany. Really great place to get seasonal produce, especially if you don't have a farmer's market nearby.

The selection can't match a big supermarket, so be ready to buy what's in stock rather than shopping for specific things; for me, that's part of the fun.

Come support the co-op if you're in the neighborhood!

I really appreciate the many things you do well. Please improve in two areas: 1. Label prices correctly (often times there are no price or the items cost more than labeled). Most stores honor the price advertised but this was not my experience at this store. 2. No other store charges for produce bags, you do, please put up sign so people know. All in all, do your best to minimize surprises to your customers at checkout. I really want you to be successful as we need more small grocers with good value. Thanks for all the good.

This is commercial but they toss trash on the street. Cheap single trash cans. Full of rats. I see their tails. On a residential block so we must endure the rats for who? This community is affluent. Why does this exist? Clearly there are communities that need a food coop. We are all being terrorized by rats for the white privelege fantasy this place provides. Like you're not already shopping at trader Joe's, whole foods and Costco for organic.

Member run, volunteer coop with local and organic produce and Kombucha on tap. Bulk coffee, oats, flour, nuts - the staples. Seasonal selection of organic/local fruits and veggies, and good quality meat, eggs and dairy.

High-quality local and/or organic food at low prices for member/owners (you can join for a reasonable one-time fee and thereafter work an infrequent shift, or you can also shop here if you belong to another Brooklyn co-op). Friendly and accessible atmosphere. Happy this is here!

Tiny, unassuming food cooperative. While not large like the Flatbush or Park Slope food coops, it does have all the basics. The check out system is slow, however, with the relaxed and laid back environment, this is not critical. This is a friendly neighborhood community cooperative, not a place to grab and go.
