Organization was very unfair, unprofessional and unorganized! The president recommended bringing my son here for his 1st year of football and biggest mistake ever. I ordered a shirt with my sons name and number to wear at his 1st game and paid for it on time. The order was late and was told it wld be ready on game day. It wasn’t ready and had to wait an additional 3 weeks. My son got called the “n” word by another kid at his 1st week of practice but from the sounds of it, this was normal behavior. My sons Gatorade was being stolen by the players and I addressed it with the head coach and his response “not everyone is from the suburbs” so I’m guessing stealing is normal for this team as well. Communication lacked. We were emailed that practice wld end at 7:45 but parents wld get a text at 7:25 saying practice wld end at 7:30. Unit director had a meeting with all parents that their policy is that each player is required to play in 5 plays. Well my son had to beg the coaches to be put in the last 2 games. My son played on freshman and they won the super bowl but my son wasnt excited. He was sad and upset that he didn’t get a chance to enjoy football. To have a kid stand in the cold for 2 hrs and only get put in for 2 plays was a slap in the face. The coaches had their favorites. They preached about having fun but only cared about winning, not about the players and the team as a whole. I wld not recommend bringing your child here. I even emailed my concerns to the president of the organization and the unit director of the team James Pierce and there was no response. Save the headache and go somewhere else!

My younger brother was a part of the organization for like seven years playing baseball and then football and I had the greatest opportunity to coach cheerleading for the Westland Comets. The Directors were amazing and the league is one of a kind ❤️💙

I started having problems with this league when we lost our previous director. The children are not learning the game of football. The time, money and effort I spent in my child playing for this league has been waisted due to lack of sportsmanship. Our boys are not getting treated fairly and the mission of WYAA is not what I see on the field. Boys are not being played as much as others are and we pay to to join the league. I'm disappointed in this league and I would not refer anyone to invest your time, money and dedication into a league that does not treat every child like they are a star. I'm highly disappointed!

The Wyaa more specifically The Westland Comets Team has saved me in many ways the coaches work so well with the kids if you’re struggling with something they are immediately right on it.
