I love the "We Care" Mens Shelter. It was built in 1920 and was originally a "live-in" Hotel serving Turlock's old Train Depot which is just down the street a block. I'm fairly certain it served mostly men even then as a place for men doing business in the area could stay comfortably for extended periods. It's been remodeled in the past three years leaving the original building mostly as it was. An elevator was added and a new dining hall has been added and is now in service. It was all done very nicely. Very nice facility with a great staff that I now consider My Friends. Turlock should be very proud of the use of this property. I want to say "Thank you" to all involved for all they've done for me personally and for their patience as I've worked through the most difficult time in my life and as I continue to work to "get my feet under me again".

From my heart, THANK YOU.

Damn it you told on another police chief. That was third party collection. You said i couldn't kill them after Paz is that why Debra was retired she gave me 18 dollars and 6 dollars from staff to pay the money that was stolen. Damn it Paz 5he one that attacked me in Bakersfield. That guy Jonathan was performing his accept punishment for telling on them for the murder contract on me, and giving police department stolen money. That when I saw that woman from macaroni grill in Merced talking to Ramiro from the bus. Tony Ramos was another person that I saw blue yellow uniform at Walmart in legacy stop telling on my police chiefs. It good referen8for when I take over the restaurant Corp like

Individual showers (which is a plus believe it or not). Two-bunk rooms. 50 beds. This is a men's shelter. There is another women's shelter. Volunteers come and make dinners nightly, which are generally very good. Local families or churches very often will provide very good meals. However staff is impossibly strict, and you're very limited as to what you can bring inside with you, basically a tooth brush. Plus, there's every chance you'll be forced to give up your bed for some unforeseen conflict that is likely to arise with either staff or other 'clients,' that is if you get a bed. Not to mention you'd be surrounded by drunks and ex cons and drug addicts (not to mention the mentally ill) from 6pm to 7am. No offense, just saying.
Also actually there is a bed bug problem at the moment. I don't know why the city doesn't do more for people in need. Even the staff sits down to enjoy the same donated food every night. Not sure if that's just one of their perks. Not sure if volunteers realize they're showing up to also feed the staff.

This place has been such a fantastic help to both my deaf homeless friend and myself getting him located in his own place.
The staff is fabulous. These people really need to be recognized!
