WARNING!!!!
TO ALL INCOMING VISITORS,
You will have to wait in line until it opens. Meaning, if You show up 3-4 hours prior. You can no longer hold your spot in line. (like using a chair or what have you) You will have to wait outside in line until it opens. (the time of post this review, the temperature is 35 degrees or maybe colder) Risking your health for food.
The day I visited it was 35 degrees, my mom and I woke up at 4:30 am to arrive at wayforward location in Middleton at 5am where the pantry opens at 10 am just so we could have a good spot in line (5 Hour wait). We place our chairs in line just like everyone else, just like every other time. While waiting inside my car, just to find out at 8am that our chairs were taken inside the building. I was confused because the same people that were ahead of us were sitting in their chairs, directing that the staff taken our chairs inside the building and that we would have to go all the way to the end of the line, which at that point, people were laughing at us and there were around 30 - 40 people in line, even after waiting 3-4 hours already.
The reason I'm posting this review is that. Even if we were to go back to the end of the line, which is cruel and unusual, it's 35 degrees outside! It's very cold, to be waiting in line for hours. My mom has health conditions which is why I take care of her. So, to be outside that long in the cold. I don't think that's humane and I feel as though people are risking their health for food, (a monitory gain) the same people who are impoverished and struggling to make ends meet. Who really benefits from this new policy? Not good. The loss of morality

Great center with a good pantry, clothing center, rental assistance and many other resources. The staff is helpful, kind and non judgemental. I truly appreciate that the community has this to support others during difficult times.

This is an incredible resource for the community of Middleton with polite and caring volunteers. One of the only places you can visit daily ! With that said , I have noticed that there are a group of the same people that stand in line hours before it opens. I have stopped using the pantry for the time being because EVERYTHING is taken by the time I get there. They also have free clothing ! But the issue is the same. It feels like a mad dash to get anything. I hope that the leaders of this organization change some of their policies, as I’m sure they have also noticed these issues. Placing limits on frequency is okay ! And will help a broader range of people.

I came 3 x and closed every time. This time I checked. I got there Tuesday just after 2pm. I was met at the door- It was closed! Google says open to 4:30.
This is difficult with small resources. Would appreciate correct info. I will chg my review if I ever get in.

I have lived in Middleton for almost 7 years and never took advantage of my local resources. This year things were different and I needed some help. Just visiting the pantry and clothing store at way forward REALLY helped me. I had Thanksgiving food and now I have Christmas taken care of. I am so grateful and appreciative of everything provided to me! Thank you so much and God bless all the souls that volunteer and work so hard to help the community. It is truly life saving! ❤️

WayForward helps families stay together and survive through tough times. Food bank, clothing bank, rent and utility assistance, and other help when help is needed. An amazing and committed team gathering and distributing critical resources to families in the Middleton+ area!
