Volunteers of America Thrift Store

One of my top 5 thrift stores in the area. It's a huge store (formerly Toys R Us), clean, and the prices are reasonable. I've found a lot of cool treasures! The best part is...they do have restrooms and the dressing rooms are open!! ❤️

I love this store. I love the sales but the people working here at night are extremely rude. Maria the manager screams at you to get out of the store at 8:40pm, after she just said to be up to the register by 8:50pm.. I don’t appreciate being talked about with other coworkers either, not very manager like. This is the 3rd time she has been rude for no reason at all. I gave her a pass the first two times, thinking she must of had a bad day, but obviously this is just her character, rude and mean. She must hate her job. May she be blessed with peace and joy because she obviously doesn’t have that. Maybe she could get a job where she’s not working in customer service because it’s one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a retail store. EDIT: Anita the store manager said she will be having a talk with her and that we are allowed to be in the store until 9pm. I appreciate her resolving the situation.

Honestly was disappointed. Drove an hour out of our way to come based off the photos and reviews. Got there and most things were double the price of our lansing VOAs and the pickings were slim. Sooooo many empty shelves. Was less kept compared to other shops and the staff was only of moderate quality when assisting; very monitone and flat. Lacking excitement and enthusiasm. For sure not worth driving out of my way to shop BUT decent for a local thrift store if you could come in regualry to hunt for golden eggs.

Went on a thrift store spree with a friend and this was our top rated store! Smelled clean, bright lighting, super organized and well laid out, great sale and decent pricing. Definitely recommend!

Love this place❤️. Every time I go, I can find something I really need. It’s really large & clean. The prices are very reasonable.

Very nice and organized thrift store. Orange tags were 50% off and green tags were 75% off while I was here. The prices were great in my opinion. The cashier told me that the proceeds benefit the veterans of America. What a good thing! I would recommend this store.

Visited yesterday and it was the best experience ever! First of all, it is a huge space. My daughter was amazed and kept professing that we had come to the wrong place when we were in the parking lot because she thought it was a grocery store because of the size of the building. The employees were very cordial and expeditiously aided me in signing up for the rewards program and explaining the colors of the week. The prices are reasonable, and this was surprising because I have literally been to every Salvation Army and Goodwill in the area, and if you go to either one or both of these places for thrifting, you know that you might as well go to a major store because the prices are now outrageous, and the employees are undoubtedly rude! I love love love the background music which works to create a nostalgic atmosphere as one explores. AAAA++++ place.

Had a good time here today. So many good finds for great prices!!
