Volunteering with VIN was an incredibly experience! I spent an amazing 2 weeks working in 4 schools teaching about disasters and preparedness while enhancing the childrens english. Everyone I met was so lovely and helpful enciting me into their culture. While in Okhaldhunga I got to see multiple festivals including Gai Jatra and Teej, which was unforgettable and really made my time in Nepal. I'm so glad VIN allowed me to see the beautiful sights and culture if Nepal and I wish to come back soon!

Volunteers Initiative Nepal - An Unforgettable Experience!
I recently completed a 5-week solidarity mission in Nepal with Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN), and I couldn't be more satisfied with this incredible experience. From the moment we arrived in Kathmandu, we were warmly welcomed and immersed in the vibrant Nepali culture through visits to majestic temples and tastings of local dishes.
The journey to Okhaldhunga was breathtaking, with stunning mountain and valley landscapes. Once there, we immediately began our mission to support children through educational and creative activities. Seeing their smiles and enthusiasm was a tremendous source of motivation and happiness.
In parallel, we participated in construction and renovation work at the NaraTika Community Learning Center. Contributing to the improvement of local infrastructure was extremely rewarding. We also created 10 permaculture beds on three farms in Bhadaure, which was a fantastic initiative for environmental sustainability.
Organizing a summer camp, computer classes for children, and awareness sessions on landslide risks further strengthened the skills of the local community.
Returning to Kathmandu was marked by a beautiful cultural evening and a traditional meal. The closing ceremony, with the presentation of a recognition trophy by VIN, was the cherry on top of this exceptional adventure.
A big thank you to VIN for this unforgettable opportunity and to our partners Safran Electrical Components, Junia Alumni, Makeen Energy, Globalong, and everyone who supported us throughout this mission. I highly recommend VIN to anyone looking for a rewarding and transformative volunteer experience.
