The facility is extremely clean and most importantly, the residents are always happy here!! High quality care and people with hearts of gold are inside these walls. What a beautiful community! Dalonda, Andrew, and Brittany were SO welcoming! I was really impressed with the meals and how spacious their dining area is. Melissa and Shelly are TOP notch med techs that lead in providing quality care that is tailored to each resident’s individual needs. The care staff truly CARE about the residents! Donna provides a full calendar of activities and events that add enrichment, value, and FUN to the resident’s lives. I’d definitely place my loved one in this facility.

The team at The Bay at Chesterfield has been wonderful to work with. I was not familiar with the previous management but my experience with Jonathan and Sonya has been excellent. They helped a family that was very important to me feel welcome and respected. I would recommend this team.

Pretty facility but “looks aren’t everything”. This facility is now called Volante which is the name of the management company that took over Grace Assisted Living and changed the name to The Bay at Chesterfield and now Volante of Chesterfield.

In my opinion, the family atmosphere of Grace Premier Assisted Living went corporate after the facility changed ownership.

It is my understanding that this facility is now owned and managed by out-of-state corporations. I feel like these businesses are more concerned about profit than senior care.

I feel the care quality suffered after the ownership changed. At the time, the turnover of caregivers caused staff shortages, especially on nights and weekends.

When I called Volante to voice my concerns, I was told they meet the "minimum requirements for the State of Michigan." That wasn't good enough for me.

So, before making a financial commitment, I recommend you visit a couple evenings here and especially visit on weekends. Talk to residents and families on your own. Ask how many staff work in the evenings because I often see only 1 or 2 cars in the parking lot at night.

Staffing levels are important. Residents can fall if call buttons go unanswered. That’s why some online sites about long term care recommend using surveillance cameras in the room.

Also ask if they currently have a nurse on staff.

The former nurse left after the ownership changed. In my situation, this caused medication delays and errors, and delays getting help when I needed it.

You should look up "Working at Volante Senior Living" to see what the employees say about it.

Finally, you can check for Michigan licensing violations by looking up “Adult Foster Care/Homes for the Aged”. Click on “Look up a Licensed AFC/HFA”. Search for Volante of Chesterfield. Then click on Volante of Chesterfield (underlined) to read the state reports.

Along with a Totally Awesome Care Staff, Volante of Chesterfield Senior Living (formerly The Bay at Chesterfield) makes Activities a top priority for its residents. From morning to after dinner we have a wide range of card games, Bingo, crafts, live entertainment and a daily exercise program just to name a few. We are energized both physically and mentally. I Love calling this place My Home.

I would give this facility 0 stars if possible. My father was a resident for 4 years, however once the new owners took over this place in late 2022, it changed completely. My father's room was filthy. His sheets/blankets smelled of urine. Rubber gloves and wipes with human waste were all over the floors. The carpet was filthy. I would come and he was sitting in wet pants frequently. We finally were able to move him to a better facility and we did a med count and discovered they were not giving him his medication for over two months. His dementia had escalated so badly because he was not properly medicated. It took him weeks to become coherent and alert again, but thankfully, with the new facility he is better. The best part? 3 months after he moved out they're trying to charge us $1500 for mysterious charges even though his rent was paid 100% in full - and we were never reimbursed for the partial month he wasn't there for care. BEWARE! Please do not send a loved one here.

We have had very good experiences with the new management at The Bay at Chesterfield. The team goes above and beyond for their residents and provide a clean and safe environment. We happily recommend The Bay!
