Took them about 5 months to help me because I was not a resident at first I guess. With correct documentation and a lot of patience with them they WILL help eventually. They referred me to MBI hpp and they helped a ton ! They were able to place me and my family somewhere finally. They will only help with shelter if you absolutely have Nowhere to go! Some of the workers' attitudes are not the best and can sometimes be inconsiderate but overall they did help my family when the time came. Unfortunately a lot of families are on the streets still though because they probably don't have the documents they request. But some of the documents they request can possibly be hard for someone to obtain. Keep bothering them and hopefully they will help everyone else because there are A LOT of homeless families here in DC living in cars, on the streets etc.

I was contacted by makita Boone from wheeler creek cdc today over the phone when we had a in person meeting which she didn’t want to have . During our “intake phone call “ she was disrespectful and rude . When I tried to explain my situation to Makita Boone she told me to find a “man” to live with or find “2 jobs” instead of being a professional case manager . When I told her she wasn’t trying to understand my situation she further told me I don’t know what she is going through . If she is going through anything and doesn’t want to help others idk why she is working here as a case manager. She was very disrespectful and unprofessional.

I have been waiting to get housing since summer of 2023 come November i finally was able to get connected to a provider (everyone home ) and they are absolutely the worst they said I dont qualify for rapid but willing to pay first month rent and deposit and then months later I will be back in the same situation. Which is being HOMELESS. I even tried using that option but wasn’t pointed in the right direction no list of potential apartments that can go by my income or anything . I called multiple times to get a new provider they told me no I can never ever change my provider but I know many people who has. They told me if I can’t find an apartment on my own that I should just leave dc the place I was born and raised and or raise my income. A single disabled mom of 2 that’s currently in college trying to better me and my kids life. They can’t do anything for me. Even with a part time job . And just want me to stay in the system so they can keep making money off me . Virginia Williams is a scam they don’t help they don’t care. I want to either be helped or yall can remove me from the system. Simple.

Virginia Williams communication is bad. I had to contact my case manager several times with no response, only to later find out, my case was transferred to a new case worker. Neither communicated well. Virginia Williams signed docs they would pay security deposit, and four months of rent at 100%, 75%, 50% and 25%. Virginia Williams only paid first month and security deposit, that I had to constantly call them to arrange and lack of communication from case worker, was switched without telling me and literally was still worried the day of signing my lease. I have one child and it was extremely difficult to get their assistance the one time I did. They did not stick to what they agreed and communication was bad.

I couldn’t wait to get off the phone and do this review! I have a thousand bad experiences with this place since 2005, but today I received a call back from Ms. Yvette Tucker and all I can do is thank God for her. Someone who actually cares and sympathizes with people. She even made me laugh a bit! She said I made her day, but she just don’t know how much she made mines! Thank you for giving me hope Ms Tucker! GOD BLESS YOU

My daughter is in love stats at one of these places with my grandchild they don’t feed them on holidays. Very concerned a child has to eat three meals a day as well as his mother that is a type one diabetic so I’m not understanding this kind of place where the social worker doesn’t respond to emails and doesn’t show up to talk to the residents and of people that are in there. I think the mayor should look into these. Places Virginia Williams places at least, and do some kind of inspection or something to find out how these places are actually running kind of like an undercover boss to see how actually the people are being treated.

They are very unprofessional in the customer service aspect of this place. They NEVER answer the phones, not even knowing what type of emergency their having. New management needs to take over, since they can't multitasking. It's sad that ppl get in these positions and get too comfortable in their seat, not knowing people are our here suffering. It's been going on long enough.
