We moved our mother into memory care at Ventana Winds last October. Heather, Dawn, and Mike were very helpful in making the transition from another facility in the Valley. The staff has been very supportive of our mother and very responsive to me and my family when we have had questions or issues. We recently had a couple of issues that were a concern but both Heather and Mike were quick to make the issues right and made changes to some of the ways they do business, which will positively impact other residents. Our mother historically has not been the easiest person to care for but in a recent conversation with her she said she really likes Ventana Winds, the people are good to her, they take good care of her, and she feels like it is home. That says volumes about the staff—who are angels in my book as it is a gift to be able to care for elderly memory residents. Thank you for sharing your gifts with our loved ones.

Just want to share the photo of this pretty pudding served to a resident who could not see.

Kudos to Ventana Winds for such an amazing dining and kitchen staff who still provide the best service to the residents even if the residents themselves may not be able to see the care, the residents can feel the effort the staff do.

So we hope the administration can recognize their staffs work and provide them with more support. If this is how well they are despite being understaffed, the more they can continue such excellent work when they are not overworked.

Wow! Really loving everything about Ventana Winds so far! The Marketing Consultant, Dawn, is an absolute Angel & miracle worker! She was very quick to respond to any questions I had and she was extremely helpful during the process. I brought my parents to meet Dawn and had a great tour of the facility and had a very tasty lunch. They were going through a remodel while we were touring/moving in and it was really nice to see the difference of the before and after. Many people said hello and told us how they like living there. All of the staff is extremely helpful during the move-in process. Nothing but great things to say here. Parents are now living there and continue to say how delicious the food is, and all the nice people they continue to meet. Maintenance was really helpful during the move-in process. But honestly, every business should have their own version of a Dawn working for them. She is such a gem!

If you want to live in hell, or punish a loved one, put them in this place. You sign a contract, but they don’t follow it. Their answer is if you don’t like it you’re only on a 30 day lease so get out. Cold food, wrong or late desperately needed meds. Hot water sporadically off. This is a very, very very unhappy place..A Director that might as well be a warden. The nurse has no idea what he is doing. dog friendly what a joke. Even a service dog .Daily trash pick up ,lucky if it’s weekly. bugs everywhere do not expect very many compassionate workers. If you complain, expect heavy retaliation This is not assisted , This is controlled living Thank God I had A daughter that got me out of there. If you want to see many residents, crying In fear, that’s the place to go. All I can say is I pray for those that are left there!!!!? most recently, April 3, 2024 Marine friend of mine was basically run out of there. They tried to automatically pull money out of his account when he told Rebecca in compliance not to do it anymore. This trust me is not a good place and not good people running it In administration

Food is great…huge nice soundproof room with kitchen and large patio. Many activities to dive into. The Art Class with Kevin is amazing. A new ED with a kind heart is working to make everything better. Best place for the $!

While my uncle was in the memory care unit (recently passed) the only nurse there who REALLY cared about all her residents and their well being is now gone. Regardless of what corp might say about her or anyone else if it isn't anything but upstanding they are full of it. She was the only one who really did her job and made sure the residents were truly cared for. Has the passion that we all look for to have in our loved ones corner when we are not able to be there. I am now having to try and get some of my uncles belongings back. Though they tell you make sure to put the name on EVERYTHING the staff DO NOT make sure that those items are returned to the rightful owners or they have more need for the items then the person who owned it. You can complain to the corp. office or even to the director yet they do nothing. I complained about the sink in my uncles room leaking shortly after I placed him, again months after and it was never fixed as it was still leaking when I went to pickup his belongings. (he was there a year and a half) Have employees who are alcoholics and still in the building with your loved ones when drunk.
If you do decide to place your loved one here GET A NANNY cam and place them ALL OVER their room. Keep records of what you moved them in with (nothing expensive or has meaningful value. Keep those items in a safe place else where) and what is in their rooms every time you visit. Every conversation, record and make notes of every incident (get copies of the reports the facility HAS to write up.

My mother and step-dad lived here years ago. They loved it. I spent a lot of time there at that time, and I'm guessing it's still a very well run business. Don't be swayed by things you read online. Much of it isn't accurate. Also, they have a memory care area if needed. Good people.
