I navigate the downtown area on a daily basis running errands and as a disabled individual who feels like I can be victimized at anytime in this city feel that the men and women of Urban Alchemy aren't acknowledged nearly enough for what their presence alone provides I can ride the elevator into the bart station without stepping over addicts or smelling something unpleasant they are doing an excellent job minimizing the loitering and all that goes along with that and to know that they are mostly ex cons who are deep in the trenches trying to get their life back on track Is beyond a win/win for SF. Kinda makes one wonder what the secret is that makes them special in short my opinion is whatever budget cuts need to be made in SF should not include them. It makes me feel safer whenever I turn to see one or more of them ensuring my safety equipped with nothing more than a radio and a presence I appreciate all of you at Urban Alchemy and thank you for your service.

I have personally experienced, and witnessed others experience, cat-calling and harassment from these “workers”. I’ve also witnessed them being unnecessarily aggressive towards homeless people as well as calling them slurs. I always feel on edge when I see them in the area. I’m sure the organization has good intentions but it seems they need to vet the guys they hire a bit more.

I took my 87 year old father using a walker, to the Orpheum today. An unexpected surprise to be escorted from the valet at 700 Stevenson all the way to the Orpheum, helped us through the crosswalk, and explains they would be waiting to walk us back when the show was over. We had two gentleman but the one who was also directing traffic to the lot, and wakes us through to Market was especially a kind soul. We felt safe and it’s a good program.

DO NOT DONATE HERE!!! They are very racist! They only help people of color. If your not that, don't even bother approaching them. THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU UNLESS YOUR A PERSON OF COLOR!!! I'm sure they will come up with some excuse, but I've not only tested them myself (I was disguising myself as a homeless person), but I had others test this as well and they will lie and insult you unless you're one of the specific types people they're interested in. DO NOT DONATE HERE!!!

Such a great place helping the community stay clean and keeping kids away from the craziness of 6th street. Met T and he talked to me explaining what they do and he was a pleasure. Such a good human being!!! Keep up the great work!!!

I was in such a pickle trying to get my big ebike down to Bart and was in tears. Urban Alchemy came to my rescue and helped me solve it to make the train and the event that I was going to! They build humanity among helplessness, I appreciate what you all do so much!
