We enrolled our 2 youngest children in the basketball league. They are having fun at their young age and I do realize it is a free service. Its hard for the teams to get coaches or for them to get their to coach the kids. Although the staff step up to fill in and other parents try to make it Happen....

Beautiful facilities. Secure, safe, clean. Well run. Pool offers lifeguards. YMCA Staff walks the building to answer questions and clean up.

The facility runs promotions to attract teens and families however only to upsell later thru promos. Different staff have different information about the same thing, some are helpful some are not. They wont let parents to guide teens on how to practice weights unless you pay for family membership. You can use one guest pass once a year and you pay $99 a year for family membership. They give you promotions for free upgrades for 15 days and have cancellation policy of 30 days so you will always be charged with their promotions. Pools are hit or a miss, restrictive schedules and so less activities that too just run by volunteers. You still pay $99. Ymca was supposedly for communities not for profit however its quite the opposite now. Supervisor when told, lives in state of denial. A simple acceptance on feedback would have meant things can change but thats not the case here.

I took advantage of my free training session. Lilly was amazing. I only wish that I could afford more sessions. Chair aerobics with Jeff and he and the class are amazing

I'm a little frustrated. I was super excited to join, love the facilities but now have gone 2 times with the women's locker room being closed for 2 hours in the middle of the day for cleaning and once all day for repairs. This means no shower, no stream room or sauna. I called the San Pedro facility and asked if they had a steam room thinking the closure was Torrance specific. Got to San Pedro to see the locker rooms would be closing there as well in less than the time I would finish my workout. Super disappointed. I understand wanting a clean facility and appreciate that, but can it not be done in spot checks throughout the day without closing the entire locker room?! Closing a locker room for 2 hours in the middle of the day for cleaning when the facility is closed every night doesn't make sense to me. The frustration of never knowing what I was going to find at 24 hour fitness, in terms of things being open and available was literally why I decided to go the YMCA in the first place. The YMCA is world's better than the other but this has me really frustrated and discouraged. I can't afford an expensive gym and really enjoy going.

I really used to enjoy my memebership when my kids were smaller, Idk what has shifted but I feel as though they treat you as though you should be grateful to THEM that you pay $80 a month to almost never be able to make reservations to the limited amount of amenities they do have. I can nearly almost never get someone on the phone to help me when their site/app does not allow me to make reservations. For as much as I am paying I should not be struggling so much to be able to make reservations this often. I hardly am able to use my membership at all. Not to mention how complicated it is to cancel my membership. A lot of the employees and the guests themselves are really Karen like. Very strict about the rules and using them to complain about just about anything. I feel judged every time I step foot in this place by everyone. It used to be a place I would recommend all of my friends with children but honestly not anymore.

Love this gym everything about it is amazing. I use this gym on my commute to work to get a workout early in the morning. I spend a bit of time in the locker rooms getting ready and this gym has great locker rooms. The showers are all communal have great water pressure. There’s a bunch too so no waiting for an open shower. They have a sauna and steam room in the locker room so it’s gender separated. It’s such a friendly and welcoming environment. I’m able to fully get ready for work and do my makeup and hair all while being nude and everyone else is too and is fine with it! One thing I will say is that sometimes people do gross things in the locker rooms like it’s their own home. Mind you most if not everyone is naked so you should bring a towel to sit on but nobody really does and it’s a little gross. One thing is that I did see someone while sitting in the steam room pee where they were sitting just in the open. It’s gross, unfriendly, and very TMI.
