Huge variety of clothing styles, brands, and quality, lots of fun to browse and stumble upon a great deal. The staff is friendly and it is too bad that they’ve had some theft incidences in the past. Overall a great store full of surprises. A bit if a hike from downtown La Crosse but still definitely a must-stop if you’re looking for discounted, thrift, or unique clothes and home goods.

Hey Shain Z. You're the first ignorant person I've found it necessary to correct let me know when the silver spoon falls out your mouth and you spend at least 6 months outside in those Shiney shoes then we'll see how humble you can be. We are grateful for the little that we are blessed with and proud to share it among the lucky ones who can get in. With 6 we are not the providers of the shelter and they do amazing with what they have as far as resources to help so many of us. So honestly think before you speak if you can't understand yet then just don't speak

Went in the store on 7-6-2024 and the lady at the desk and the rude man working said we are closing and unless you know what you want we are closed. They were supposed to be open till 5 and it was only 4:32pm…. The management should really get help that wants to follow the hours.

I find it amazing to read through the reviews left on this site. WOW! More than one reviewer would give Salvation Army a bad review...but then when you go and look at their other reviews they are from different parts of the country or reviewing somebody the more expensive eateries in La Crosse. Seems like there are some fake reviews out here. I hope the Salvation Army can do what it supposed to do: give a hand up to those who need it. La Crosse, as a city, is not equipped to handle the homeless/unsheltered issue. This should be handled by the County. The Salvation Army does a good job but will never satisfy those that aren't willing to see it as the resource that it is, not the crutch that they want it to be. Thank you for all you do!

I came for some emergency bill assistance and the food pantry. They have a free lunch and dinner every day. The burgers and fries this day were delicious. There is also a homeless shelter, church services on Sunday and a variety of services and classes to help people get back on they're feet, or to help them avoid homelessness. I have always been treated well here. I read other reviews from unhappy people, and I'm sorry they had bad experiences but the people that work here are people... Imperfect regular people who have their own problems, issues and moods. Sometimes if I feel that someone is jumping my case or dumping on me unfairly I ask them if they're having a bad day. Oftentimes this helps change the tone of the whole interaction. Nobody is perfect, if they were there would be no need for these kind of places. I am thankful there are places to go when we need it.

Hi, I enjoy going to the Salvation Army to help with different projects. I like helping out when ever I can. There have been times where I have needed a little help with things like milk or some duties. They have always helped me out. I in turn will make things like banana bread for them when the bananas are over ripe. All seem to like it. I also like to meet new people. Hear there stories and share some of mine. I like to share that no matter how rough things seem , just take it to the Lord in prayer.

I wish I could donate more to the salvation army because they are genuine in their cause. The money they make from selling their items really does go back into the community. They raise funds for a homeless shelter in LA Crosse which is a godsend for a lot of people. I honestly wish more people had a way to get there or a way to contact them to arrange transport. I try to donate to them as much as possible over goodwill but unfortunately goodwill has a much farther reach.

Fitting rooms closed which deters trying more items. The selections were less than expected as far as quality and amount. I did find one nice gift item and was half off the price! So trip was well worth it!
