Carolynn who works at the front desk is an absolute angel. I went in this morning after receiving a shut off notice on my consumers yesterday and scheduled to be shut off yesterday as well. ( i know it sounds unbelievable to recieve a shut off the same day it was scheduled to be shut off but its true, it happend.) I got my mail pretty late last night and there was nothing i could do with everything being closed for the night. I walked into salvation army looking for help with an extension to pay consumers. I wasn't looking for funding and literally only needed 5 days longer to pay my consumers bill. After already being at consumers right when they opened this morning and them telling me they couldn't give me anymore extensions this beautiful woman (Carolynn at salvation army) saved the day for my children and I. I'm sure she has no idea really just how much of a blessing she truly was for us today and I'm so greatful for her. Thank you so much Carolynn, for everything you are and do for this community and our people❤️

Reading other comments, they are NOT all related to the CHURCH. There are thrift stores and social services that are run separately and from other locations. The church is wonderful, Bible based, they have beautiful music (brass band and Praise team), MANY activities on Wed. night for youth, including dinner. They will even teach you how to play a brass instrument! There are several Bible studies, at church, small groups in member's homes plus on Zoom. They run summer programs and have a beautiful camp in Oxford,MI for children and adults. The church family is very friendly and the Pastors are nice and preach God's word. If you're looking for a church, visit at 11am on Sunday. 211 W. Kearsley in downtown Flint. You will be blessed.

The Salvation Army provides Christmas's for children who otherwise would not have a Christmas. My wife volunteers here often and we are doing a pop can drive right now for kids' Christmas's bcuz of Covid19 we can't ring bells anywhere this year so the can deposits are for the kids' Christmas's. They are an Awesome organization. They help with Consumers power bills and do a lot for our community.
