I went there at the specified time on their website to get food donations. I was told it was the wrong time and day. I told them I was going by what their web page said. I was turned away and told for food to come back in 2 weeks and I needed a pay stub. If a person is homeless what makes you think they have a job . This was a couple years ago. Today I'm not homeless and I have a job no thanks to them.

This was the redeeming Salvation Army that I experienced after a bad experience at the so called shelter in Bell, CA.

After being house at a nearby hotel by my relatives, I walked to this Salvation Army, hungry, and hoping to get food.

They did not ask any questions, just asked for my ID, and then they fixed me up with a couple days worth of food, including COLD bagged milk!

Once I got back to the hotel, I scarfed down half of the food in one sitting, but I felt IMMENSELY satisfied with the food they gave me. Cold sandwiches which was the perfect prescription for the hot day that I was walked.

I haven't yet made my thank-you donation, but I plan on doing so in the near future, so they can use the money to help a hungry out-of-state traveller in need.

Today I received a call from Manual and he informed me that he was from the Salvation Army and he was very concerned that I had a problem before with the pandemic and that I had a situation he really acknowledged my problem and I felt his comfort during the conversation and I’m standing on the promises that god makes away out of no way and that he’s a provider Manuel was very concerned about my situation and he explained to me his purpose for calling I’m grateful to receive the call today out of nowhere May god be the glory

I love it . the founder williams booth he started in 1865 by
Helping the needed , we all have different needs , williams booth main concern to help you find peace to our soul , and he also gave food and on this location of the salvation army today it still helps you find peace to your soul and work with the community for example after school programs , for our kids , music lessons, on mondays it has a love kitchen . and it has gymnasium for any one want to come play.
