My child’s father took me to court to get sole custody of our child. This was an extremely High Conflict and High Complex child support case. I went to The OpenDoor Network to request a one sentence line on letterhead, documentation- anything that could help my case as I was going ProPer and had a caseworker who recently had left OpenDoor. I was DENIED any form of documentation for court stating that I was a current client and a victim of DV. If you are truly in dire need of assistance- go speak with The Bakersfield Mission; DO NOT COME HERE!!!! Do not give them any statements- they will NOT help you!!! PS- I won my child custody case on my own!!!!!!

The open door network has gave me the run around. A girl did my referral and told me I should get a call the next Monday to do my intake and inspection so I could move into my apartment. I got no call I reach out they say it could take 2 weeks once again no call back I reach out I’m told it should be done by June and here we are in June I have a place and can’t move in because they are doing nothing. No ones has called me it’s always “we emailed them and will reach out when we get a response”. I started my referral back in April and it’s June now and nothing new. They don’t keep their word.

Worst shelter ever I was there 2 weeks they promised to help me with my resume I sent it to their email and never finished helping me.second thing the whole girls set me up by putting a wax pen in kids playground and had to drug test every one even though I just got there I already had weed in my system so they were trying to get rid of me because of jealousy woman are very evil they don’t focus on them selfs and that’s why karma will get them they will be at the same position until there attitudes change to positive and be happy at what you have and that your clean from drugs and healthy to still work and fight for what you need. Peace & love

This “program” is full of dishonest and unprofessional people. I was referred several months ago , completed the intake process. I was then told oh there were budget cuts and as of July first they have close my case, yet it was closed June 6th. I will be taking legal action. I hope everyone that was lied to does the same.

Very dismissive and rude on the phone. They don't care about you. They have been full for months and never take anyone in. Pregnant homeless women can't even get help from them.

HI’ve had a long, tiring, heart wrenching experience with the Open Door Network. We’ve had our ups and downs but with a ton of prayer and patience, I can wholeheartedly say they came through for me. I am extremely thankful and blessed for this organization. Being a single mother escaping DV, I would have never been able to provide a stable, safe, amazing home for me and my 2yr old. But it’s true what they say, it’s all in Gods plan and timing.
Thank you to all the people that have helped me through this, please forgive me if I was impatient at times.
Yours truly
