I visited The Center to see the Keith Haring’s mural “Once Upon a Time” from 1989. It is located in the bathroom upstairs. So interesting how this 360° mural looks in the space. Staff was nice and helpful too. I recommend to visit if you like Keith’s work : )

Such a welcoming place. Their youth programs are amazing. They have resources for teens wanting to connect more with people like them, get job experience, make connections, explore their interests and more. If you’re looking for a LGBTQIA+ safe place and welcoming environment, this is the place to go

I would like to share my experience with the LGBTQ Center. I have attempted several times to update my address since I moved to a new location. Initially, I tried to do this via email and phone. Although I was assured that the changes would be made, nothing happened.

I provided my new address, email, and phone number, but after several months, I still didn't receive any mail at my new address. Eventually, I decided to visit the center in person to resolve the issue.

Upon my visit, I was greeted by a staff member at the reception who was extremely unpleasant and had a terrible attitude. I gave him my new address, phone number, and email again, and he assured me that the changes would be made to my account. However, several more months have passed, and I still do not receive any mail at my new address.

I plan to visit the center in person again to find out what is happening. I am shocked at how poorly the center is managed and where they find staff who do nothing and seem unwilling to help. Their attitude only discourages the people who come there.

Amazing center. What a great place for 12-step meetings and events of all varieties. Love it!!

Unfortunately, the staff at this place is so incredibly rude. It must have something to do with management because it’s pervasive. The front desk, security, janitorial staff…they’re all insanely rude. It’s really shocking.

If you’re part of the management of this place, you people need to do something. Your staff is totally out of control and you have failed in your duties.

Had an anniversary gala dinner held here. Nice facilities, helpful staff, good location, and very accommodating. Not sure what other venues and services they provide, but it's a very welcoming and state of the art place.

LGBTQ Friendly and Positive Space

Attended an author reading here who experienced in his youth, racism and homophobia from schoolmates and neighbours, but in maturity his attitude and tone was positive supported by a packed room of fans. The space had a stage with seats and bright lights allowing everyone a good clear view of author and interviewer. Downstairs an information lobby and cafe were open to the public.

Note: two mixed gender washrooms were an intriguing experience and maybe mixed bath houses will follow this equality trend?

If you love a lgbtq person or are one: Be sure to stop by this institution/historical landmark in the heart of the village and say hello! They have excellent resources and info available, rotating art shows throughout the building, a coffee bar, and are a very helpful friendly bunch.

A landmark with community services, five-star bookshop, cafe with quality pourovers, comfortable meeting spaces, all gender restrooms, and history. As a queer person, I’ve been in a lot of “affirming” spaces but this center feels almost holy. And great AA meetings! Check out Queer and Kind on Friday nights. 🙌
