We attended a bicycle maintenance class at Prince Memorial Library in Cumberland tonight. Dan was an excellent teacher and was able to connect with the whole group despite nearly fifteen people. He not only presented the material but made sure he touched base with everyone individually and answered questions about their bicycle.

Thank You!

It has a wonderful mission and I appreciate any organization that focuses on cycling. I also know that it's not easy running a non-profit. However, I have two concerns. (1) their rating on Charity Navigator gets a failing score, which indicates mismanagement. (2) the cancelation policy for their Bike Maine weekend seems unfair. In my case, I had to get surgery due to a sudden injury (which I told them I can verify from my surgeon) and they wouldn't let me give my registration to another cyclist nor transfer it to next year's event. I understand that due to budgeting the latter may not be possible but really, they won’t let me gift it to a friend? (I had registered both my partner and myself, so close to $500). That seems unkind and does not create a positive feeling about this organization. I get that they have a small staff, but this takes minimal effort and would build goodwill. I did Bike Maine some years ago and enjoyed it, but doubt I will return in the future.
