First of all, there is a guarded gatehouse. Gotta love that. The drive from there to the venue is easy enough.
However, this particular meeting room seems to be the absolute farthest from the entrance. (That is, once you find the correct door. ) I couldn't even "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" since I could not see any directional signage.
Fortunately, there were many others going to the same affair. The actual room could use updating/redecorating.
(Are disco balls still in style?) After the Memorial, it was the same trek in reverse. On the way out we noticed a very small cafe there. Though was brightly lit, we never figured out if it was open or not. The sign said they closed at 2 o'clock. The guy there said they served dessert on Sunday afternoons. I think he mentioned cheese cake. Since I am a pie, cake, brownie, ala mode person, and I did not hear "Hey, we can whip up something of your liking, we did not stick around." Knowing that the room was booked and there could be alot of hungry people, they could have had, at minimum, some to go items.
Upon exiting, I could have used more outdoor lighting. I appreciate that the venue is convenient and safe for people who live in Surprise.
