Our experience with Storm Volleyball has been outstanding. The care that the coaches take with the girls has been great and helps them to build their individual and team skills. I can’t say enough about how much my daughter’s confidence has grown over her time with the club. Thank you Storm!

I would have to say that our experience with Storm Volleyball Club is beyond word can describe. Being in the military and having to move around so much we were coming from overseas Japan. Our daughter was shy, had self confidence issues, really missed her friends, and had a difficult time adjusting to not having so much freedom to be able to roam around alone here in the California. Since volleyball is her favorite sport, we decided to look into different club. Most importantly we looked into a club that was close by where we lived and just something that she can get into without getting into trouble. When I looked into google it was between two volleyball clubs. One was really close to where we live and she can technically walk to it. However whenever I called no one answered. The next one I called was Storm. Mrs.Marleena answered the phone and we scheduled a time to see her level of expertise. When we arrived at the gym, we were to meet with coach Ahmad. She worked out with him for the first day. At the end of her first day, it was determined she had a few skills but still lack the basics (which is acceptable for us because in Japan the sports program was done by volunteers). She ended up having Coach Veronica as her coach. The next few practice I saw how the coach ran the club. I realized they weren’t only worried about winning or the money. Instead they were helping in raising these girl to become ladies. The first time I heard my daughter say “I can’t do that because it too hard” Coach Veronica had her do 10 push up. Then my daughter proceeded to try and answer the coach back and say “it’s to hard” and she kept adding 10 push ups. After my daughter did her 30 push-up Coach Veronica talked to her and told her to never say “I can’t do it” without trying the exercise. During game day or practice my daughter slowly started getting comfortable with how she looked and even loves her body shape. During the pandemic Storm ensured that they were abiding by the state regulations and made sure that the Girls Health were priority!! Mrs Monica was very good at keeping us posted on what is going on and what the plan was. My daughter has been with Storm for over a year now and I can say she has really change for the good!! She is more patient and doesn’t give up easily especially if it’s something she really wants she will work so hard for it. That is something else she has learned from the coaches of Storm. The coaches in Storm challenges their player and still makes the players have fun. They are brutally honest about the ability and skills of the player. However as long as the player has the drive, determination, and motivation the coach will continue to work with them until they fix their flaws. Eventually, their experience in the sport start to increase and so does everything else. You will see the girl cheer each other on and really build a team. From our experience, I would say that the coaches try to build a close relationship to the players and eventually the club feel more like a family because even the parent tend to start talking to each other and cheer each other’s kids on.

A better club in the Southbay! Makes young athletes into champions! Such a great experience here. Been in more gold medal matches then some of the other clubs around here. Coaches are amazing, they are amazing and know your kids from inside and out. Such a great ohana vibe here. They’re our second family!!

I am frustrated to say that the coordinator has very poor people skills and low professionalism. She schedule a try out date for my daughter and earlier that day I called her to confirm the address and told us that i should have received a called from the coach to re-schedule which i never got, but understood that things happen and they could of miss it. She gave me a second date and I ask her if i should confirm before going and said not that it was a set date a nothing would change. I show up to the tryout and there was no one there. I called her, and once again she was pointing fingers to some one else that should have called me to reschedule. To make this review shorter I was given the excuse about getting call or email from someone else another two times. The unfortunate thing was that my daughter was super excited about joining a volleyball team and was unable to because we waited for storm, because she guaranteed an opening and missed tryouts dates at all the other volleyball teams in the area. My daughter was distress about the whole situation and as I father you should know the frustration i went trough.
