This staff steal what little belongings we have left. They also do a great job at kicking you while you're already down at your lowest point. The condescending attitudes, theft of personal property, manipulation after they fail to provide at minimum a clean and safe roof to put the responsibility elsewhere but themselves,trivial/arbitrary rules. There are a a few diamond staff members that truly care and go above and beyond like Daniele and kim but theyre few a far between. Most are opportunistic and there to fill theyrempockers at the expense of the pll who who really need help.

They'll help, and doing things the right way guarantees good help. However, they will kick you out over literally anything they feel like, and sometimes services are far from up to par, (depending on you, and who you end up having to deal with)

Some of the food is causing people to have bad diarrhea. Including me.

Safe place to sleep, caring staff, no gang affiliation or rule. Which is not to say that your phone won't get stolen if unattended. Staff will pick it up if it is unattended, and they walk past. Reminding you it is shared living, not a home, use common sense in caring for private possession. Suspension of services do happen, violence, threatening others or oneself are not tolerated, and medical conditions may exist. You may need to help your self, by addressing medical issues at the on-site medical clinic. Medical issues are not a reason to withhold services from anyone. Doctors can write presciption for accomodations, which are honored in general. If your condition requires more than their program, referrals are available.

St Vincent de Pauls is a place that will treat you with respect and definitely understands the surprise of suddenly being on the street. A bed, Case Management for Housing, and 3 meals a day provide a stepping stone for those who want to reach up with the help of those around

For the clinic, the service is good. The guard is excellent. I am talking about the guy who watches my bike.

For the meals, organized, dog table helps save time. Guards overzealous.

I lived here for a few months about 5-6 years ago. It really helped me out. An I rush lady who I believe worked for the church gave me a pair of rosaries I still have. I do not think the shelter is supposed to like homely comfortable but for the circumstances I was in, Snt Vincent’s was a God send. Anthony (believe was his name, maybe Tony). Tall 6 foot plus Latino looking guy with a pony tail was so kind to me. He was always helpful and Trent I’ve to the best of his abilities. I got eaten alive by bed bugs one night. I didn’t say anything because it’s a shelter. He saw all the bites on my arms and chest and neck. Without miss a beat he asked where my bunk was and had the mattress taken, the cubicle and bunk frame sprayed and before the day was over he had a new bed mattress for me. I tear up thinking about it. The staff was mostly very kind and Beth in the computer lab helped me with a resume, job applications, job locating resources and found me donated close for so I could go to interviews (they did not fit but the thoughtfulness still stays with me). I never for get those people and Saint Vincents. Thank you all so much for the love and help you’d given me.

Good place to visit if your new to San Diego. You can get Food daily,
Travelers Aid pays for your ticket back home as long as you have someone to verify you have a place to stay they are very helpful with getting you back home safely it usually takes a day. They have a Medical and Dental Clinic. Healthy Living Recovery focused meetings daily at 10am. Employment Assistance is provided. Free College Courses are available. They also have a computer lab that’s excellent. The bathrooms are very outdated. They provide shelter services I have never been a client so I don’t really know about the shelter but this you get affordable housing once you leave the Shelter.
