An incredibly beautiful church. So peaceful to walk round the churchyard and there are some very old and interesting graves. Margaret finch Queen of the norwood gypsies was buried here in the late 18th century; no memorial though.

Twice I've been to this church when visiting Beckenham and both times the pastor was so welcoming and inviting.

I will also mention the history of the building. It is quite old. Over a thousand years a church has stood at that site. And one half was damaged severely during WW2 and was rebuilt beautifully.

St George's is a lovely church. The Sunday 0930 service is perfect- just late enough for a lie in and a coffee before church, with the bells retelling you to get a move on. There are plenty of pews to social distance at, the service takes about an hour and a bit and then it's onto the biscuits and tea/coffee. Every week we make a new friend at church as everyone is very welcoming. Its an old church so do watch your footing on the paths around the church as its not completely level. Father Jeremy and the team are always available if you need them which is also lovely and supportive.
After church, you can always pop to one of the coffee and restaurants on the other side of the road for brunchbor lunch....
