They need to fire the people that are in the kitchen. Those people are rude. They do not belong there especially the Black old lady that washes dishes and has a wig on. They’re very disrespectful. They do not treat people with kind or respect like how they should they’re supposed to be a community to show love and care to the people who are broken they need to hire people who really cares about people and that wants to help and not complain about their job because they pay very low especially the lady that complains about her job always given an attitude

I feel things can be stated better and information can be clearer: I've used the food pantry and I have a 414 number (grew up in Milwaukee and have had this number since like 2003? So I want to keep it) I don't know if that non-262 number is getting me treated differently?

I've been unemployed since November so everything is getting far far tighter with me and my spouse figure any food helps I placed an order (for today) then decided to stop by on Valentine's Day: there is a lot of information from the resource I have (from aging and disability) to hours listed online by shalom and even the automated message "you can only pre-order once a month" (but the system will let you place another order after ones placed) it adds up to confusion to me is it only once a month for the food pantry (the lettuces I got on Valentine's are certainly wilty and "have seen better days" but other things are fine and please don't think I'm trying to complain here more say "if this was an only resource" (luckily Kenosha has a few food banks)

When I finally got through to someone calling in today it seems my feedback of "the limitation should be by the hours on the website" was completely uncared about and I was literally hung up on despite explaining where my confusion stemmed from (multiple sources say one thing only the small print that nobody actually reads saying "only one visit a month") --i am certainly impressed with how "much" we got but some seems slightly unusable unless you eat just bread by itself (I'd try making bread pudding but egg prices are insane and I didn't get any milk/cream and don't have any)

So again: overall positive experience but limitation of once a month should be clearer and more known and whoever was on the line should not have hung up on me (I feel my feedback won't be taken seriously which is why I'm leaving this review)

I use the food pantry often. It's convenient, you could even order online if you prefer. I was even able to get health and beauty items

The board of directors should have already stepped in. Management has allowed relationships between residents and staff which put staff in jeopardy. Not good at all. Get back to what counts!

I have been going to the Shalom Center food pantry for a year now, since I haven't been able to work, to feed myself and my 4 kids. I use the online order from, which makes everything quicker and smoother. I love that they let us go inside to hand pick a few of the extra items. They usually have hygiene items like shampoo, hand soap, body wash, etc. Plus cleaning products. Sometimes there's vitamins and supplements, which are important for our health.
Everyone there is super nice and communicates clearly. I've learned how to cook many new things and explore foods I've never tried. Thank you Shalom Center for being there for our community!
