I definitely wouldnā€™t tell anyone not to go here and get there own experience with at this place but mines was very underwhelming. I took the HVAC class witch is not very long at all only a few weeks and every Friday ur rushed to test on a subject that you literally just ran through Mr Jose the instructor is very knowledgeable but the curriculum of the course needs to be completely changed these people donā€™t know anything about teaching HVAC. For anyone thinking about attending this place definitely consider going somewhere else. After i completed the course I was supposed to be hired with cook mechanical they took so long to hire me I started looking somewhere else, but after they hired me, I worked for at least two months and they let me go saying that I had a little experience when they knew damn well I had just graduated school now Iā€™m sitting here and Iā€™ve been out of a job since, going on almost 5 1/2 months SER Jobs hasnā€™t contacted me to try to resolve anything and I did let them know. This place was a waste of my time.

Coach is Steve maxwell. I've been talking to him for 2 months over assistance in jobs and gas card. First it was a success for getting a gas card now the second time had me come to his office and pick up the card and the receptionist doesn't have me in file. I called him and he says he will talk to the COO and get this resolved but he is unsure from his texts that I'm beginning to think he is giving lies, excuses and not being upfront about it. I feel being led on or run around and discriminated. No one should be treated this way. No one. Whether you're on parole or not no one should go thru months of finding something to start with and getting help with gas card. Gentlemen do not waste your time with this organization find out if there's others who will help out and get you on the road for success. I'm done with this organization. Doesn't help military veterans and the coaches are veterans? This how you treat brothers and sisters?

Edit up to Date: 2/11/2025 After receiving Mr. Maxwell call and apologized for the issues and inconveniences, we worked on the solution and I've received training for Forklift Certified Operator and been approved for gas card assistance. Still I recommend others to be sincere and make sure you are getting the help needing. Never abuse the assistance what SER Jobs can provide for example gas cards because others ruined it for everyone. I thank Mr. Maxwell for showing awareness and accountability because most other companies and organizations lack accountability to recognize the issue/s. Thank you again for reaching out and we are continuing to work on getting myself gainful employment. Another note SER Jobs has options to assist in TWIC Card and or CDL training. As long as you know what you are looking for they can further discuss the process.

SAL Safety Solutions is the forklift training and provides practice if needed for free after of course you finish your training with them. SER Jobs cover the cost of the classes. Without it normally costs $150 or more depending on which class you are taking to get certified and the certification is good for 3 years. I will give this company a chance and yes its a 3 star average better than a 2 or 1. Very few coaches like Mr. Maxwell would reach out to you. Not all would do this. If anyone wants to give it a try again make sure you get a coach who will help you. Determine if this will benefit you if so great if not is fine.

The first coach I had was nice, he put the effort into doing his job and answering my questions. Unfortunately, after he left, I was given some coach who cared more about getting things done fast and in a hurry instead of actually doing things correctly. They never answer the phones so I had to go into the office on Telephone Rd. one afternoon and the front desk lady was just as uncaring and rude as so many others I've had to talk to there. It would be nice if they actually took the time to hire people who can actually do their job professionally.
The job fairs are not as exciting as I thought they would be. The companies that show up don't seem to enthusiastic to be there and aren't very interactive. You walk along and just choose who you want to speak to while they just stand or sit there not really trying to get you to come over. I waited to speak to a man and woman at a table for a bank that I never heard of before. They weren't very informative or happy to even have people come up and take interest in their bank.

If i could give them 0 stars I would, I strongly advise against using the services of SERJobs. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever worked with. A staggering 88% of the career coaches fail to do their jobs effectively, often requiring you to bypass them entirely to get any assistance. You will be waiting for weeks for a simple response unless you go directly to higher-ups. This includes Jasmine, Daisy, Brisa, and many others, except for Demetrius, Amelia, Eloy, Sharonda, and Coach Mack. The few competent employees are overworked and often end up quitting due to the heavy workload.

The navigator, Veronica, rarely performs her duties properly. Her job is to guide people to career coaches and services, but she frequently turns people away for trivial reasons, such as being five minutes late to orientation. She directs the front desk to refuse entry and tells people to wait weeks for another appointment. Veronicaā€™s snobby attitude only adds to the frustration. Previous navigators have quit due to job stress, leaving clients no choice but to deal with Veronica or her subordinate, Eunice.

Management is equally problematic. Chris, Tara, Nekia, and Sheroo offer little to no help. During an event, Chris made students who were at the front of the line for food move to the back so that staff could eat first, despite the students waiting in the heat. When students refused, Chris sent a company-wide email banning the practice. Tara, the head of HR, makes empty promises about employment and then ghosts you or gives you the runaround when you follow up.

No one ever answers the phone when you call, adding to the frustration. People often travel from various parts of the city, either by bus or driving long distances, only to make blank trips because they canā€™t get what they came for or couldnā€™t get ahold of someone on the phone. You can expect to get the runaround 90% of the time when youā€™re trying to inquire about getting your support services (gas cards, bus cards, or gift cards). No one ever has an answer and always tries to place the blame on someone else rather than trying to remedy the situations or problems. Overall, this company is a nightmare. SERJobs is a waste of time and energy. I encourage you to look elsewhere for your career support needs.

Iā€™ve only had the nightmare of dealing with career coach Ruth Love. She is so unpleasant to work with. She is rude and judgemental. She put me down so many times in so many ways telling me I need help. Maā€™am what do you think I am contacting SERJobs for!? She puts her personal opinion before her job. She is strict and cold. She seems like she doesnā€™t want to help people. She enjoys the obstacles and May place more in front of someone trying to succeed. Maybe if she were more kind and not so ruthless people may have a better experience with her. She had nothing nice to say, zero positive feedback. Because of this lady I will tell everyone SERjobs is horrible. I did so much to try and get into the program and none of it was good enough for her. I jumped thru hoops and I completed every task she asked of me. And after all she still didnā€™t let me enter the program. So discouraged! Ruth Love, your attitude sucks!

They do not answer their phones or emails at all here. They are a total disgrace for a company. People are trying to get assistance and help but every time you call they never answer LITERALLY. There is literally no excuse for why these employees that work there are not picking up their phone. this is totally a inconvenience and this is careless behavior from socalled professionals.
Response to the Owner: The audacity "I don't like your attitude" I don't like your attitude either. People are needing help and we can't get nobody on the phone. The upper management will be hearing about this.
