Took the boat from Ventura Harbor at 0800am (Booked through Island Packers). Trip to Scorpion took about 90 minutes. We hiked all day, about 9 miles total, rewarded with amazing photos! Trip back was at 0400pm. The return trip was amazing, saw hundreds of dolpins and we also saw humpback whales. Highly recommend this fun filled day trip!!!

I went by myself. A one day trip, the boat ride was lovely. When I got there, the sheriff with talk with the whole group. After that we are to our own. I went hiking and exploring to two different spots. I walk fast so I was able to reach both places. It's a really nice island. Perfect for pictures. I went a little after summer. Theres no shade mostly anywhere on the island. I went on a couldy day which was perfect because no sun. I was able to take out my glass and poured wine to enjoy the end of my hike. I went to the beach as well.

This place is remarkable! I spent 4 days camping out there in late August and I will certainly be going back for more.....the campsite reservations were a breeze and very reasonably priced to boot. The island itself is a rugged and seemingly isolated landscape, even though it's a short ferry ride out of Ventura ( and they sell IPAs 🤙)
This place is a wonder for the avid outdoorsman/ladyfolk, stargazing, hiking swimming, snorkeling, fishing, photography, meditation, kayaking, history buff stuff, you name it....pure awesomeness.....

A great launch point for expeditions further afield on Santa Cruz Island. This is the remnants of an active sheep camp, with numerous structure. Lots of trees and shade in this area. There is a campground and an anchorage. Beautiful harbor and verdant roads. A really pleasant oasis.

Santa Cruz Island and the Channel Islands are a must-see. Go for a day or a week to explore a place that has clearly different flora, fauna, and geology than the nearby California mainland. Very relaxing. The NPS and Island Packers operate the park and the transportation really well.

A little steep and slippery on this rainy day. Was sure refreshing though. The dirt was like clay and just kept building up on your shoe with each step. Beautiful and lovely little walk otherwise!
