Just the best experience! Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and so helpful in making sure we found the right fit. They spent time with me, my husband, and our resident dog, Alice, to make sure Finn and Alice would be best friends! So far so good! I would recommend the SPCA to anyone. They do important, life-saving work in the adoption arena, and we are so thankful for them.

I’m so happy to adopt a puppy from here. From the very first day, he acted like he’d been with me his whole life—it felt like we’d known each other forever. Of course, I still need to potty-train him, but that’s another story and will take some time. He’s such an adorable little puppy. I’m really grateful to your organization for all the work you do. I got my best friend here! The sweetest dog ever. She loves to cuddle! Healthy dog! I found her here after going through 8 shelters. I had a long list of things I needed in the dog and SPCA was the only place that had a dog for me. Forever grateful!!! <3

Truly the most wonderful cat adoption center ever! 😺 😻

The cats are housed in lovely open areas, many with cutouts of well known San Francisco places.

The cats 🐈 are thoroughly reviewed medically by the in-house vetinary hospital staff, and any needed medical attention provided prior to placing the cats on the adoption floor.

Once there, kind volunteer and staff members give the kitties plenty of time, attention, socialization, and love!

The photos on the website and descriptions of the cats are thoroughly well done.

I adopted my puppy from SFSPCA. Everything went smoothly. The dogs had really nice rooms and seemed to be doing well. I did not see the puppies' rooms or enclosures, but I feel that they were well taken care of. Staff was pleasant and the adoption process didn't take too long.

Anyone looking for a pet should seek out shelters first. Thanks, SFSPCA!!!

I adopted a kitten recently. The facilities are amazing and there are a lot of people taking care of the animals, I felt confident that I was adopting an animal who is in good health and was well taken care of. The process is very fast, it took me about 45 minutes to look at the kittens, find one and fill all the documents. The best part is the service after the adoption, the SPCA reached out to check-in on my pet and answered the concerns I had about him adapting to my home and his feeding habits. That was so reassuring and it showed how committed they are to the animals for life!
