I actually live nearby. What prompted me to look into this facility was the constant visit from first responders. After doing some digging, I've come to realize that this facility isn't doing what it needs to in order to support the community. As a member of the community, I'm disheartened to hear about the mistreatment from staff to the individuals that need and seek help here. I've witnessed people screaming for help trying to open the doors, I've witnessed people passed out on the door step, I've witnessed countless times, an ambulance visit, at least once daily and at most every couple of hours, and I've witnessed physical altercations. This tells me that the staff aren't providing a good, stable environment and aren't caring for the people that need it. I grew up in a drug and alcohol environment, so learning about this is extremely upsetting.

I encourage those that look into this facility to stray away, and those that live nearby to call somebody in a position of power to report this facility for neglecting the people it cares for.

Rehabilitation centers should not be a place where people are repulsed to go to. It should be the place people seek better help.

Do better RS

This place isn’t worthy of even one star. I sit and wonder how an organization such as this place still is able to provide services to those in the community. The manipulation, gas lighting, mental abuse that participants sustain while in this program is unethical. The directors and supervisors that are in charge of the day to day woman’s and men’s program are drunk on power. If they deem you to be favorable then your time at RS Eden will be a breeze. But if you have one ounce of intelligence, self sufficiency and advocate for your journey in recovery then you will no doubt be placed on the not favored list . When you are placed on that list, except everything in your world to be NO. They find personal satisfaction in watching you suffer, they regularly put personalities before principals. This is not coming from someone that didn’t complete their program. I successfully graduated from their program. I vowed that when I finished I would make waves for this unethical, abusive, corrupt organization. They have no issue falsifying billing records, not facilitating actual groups that the participants would greatly benefit from. They break every HIPPA law known to man kind without blinking an eye. The director will parent shame you, verbally abuse you, make punitive calls to CPS when your simply advocating for recovery. We were regularly referred to as Liars, junkies, and thieves and told that nobody believes anything we say.
How did an organization that has such a respected name in the community become such an abusive place for people to regain control of their lives? The answer to that is two people that have been allowed to do anything they want in the organization without any regard for the direct harm they cause people. The director and the supervisor.
The last thing the director told me before my last day way that I was merely a shiny penny. And if you’re reading this, then you already know exactly who I am. I am not a shiny penny, and how dare you ever say that to any participant . I vow to make sure RS Eden is investigated in every sense of the word. You are not a good person, your soul reeks of pure evilness. And for you Coop, your personal life is so out of control you chose to come to work everyday and sour, bitter and filled with hate. You held us to standards that you don’t even hold yourself too.
I could go on and on with all of the documented abuse and fraud I witnessed at and was subjected to while at this despicable program. But I figured I would save that for my lengthy report and interview that I am having with the ombudsman’s office.
There was one thing you didn’t take into count when it came to me …I am smarter then you ever gave me credit for. And prior to falling into my addiction, I actually used to work for DHS. I know quite a bit about how things work. I realized a few months into my stay there that the only thing I could do to get thru the program was to start collecting evidence against you and all your minions . So the remainder of my time there that is what I did. This isn’t just a case of he said/she said . I asked the right questions and made sure my paper trail is long. I promise you won’t be able to gas light your way out of this one.
For anyone suffering from addiction, I strongly advise you to seek help from a different organization. There are so many other places in the area whose hearts are in the right place and truly want to make a difference. This ain’t the place.

If not for the tough love and what feels like being pushed in the ways that felt unfair and unjust I wouldn’t be here today with a family and a son that loves and looks up to me. I’m beyond grateful. It felt chaotic at times and I wanted to leave so many times things were not fair. Things were not just and in the end I learned that it was all to teach me how to handle my emotions and decisions in the world. If you can’t do it here in a controlled environment how can you do it outside in the real world successfully? This is a place for people that want to be sober and I recommend anybody that feels like they’re at the end of their ropes and are ready to do something and don’t now where to start just reach out to them. And trust me, you will not like some things but you’ll be better coming out.

I had a very close friend of mine, who had an incredibly horrendous experience. I’m not suggesting that ALL staff was unprofessional, however there were those that absolutely treated patients with pure disgusting, inappropriate degrading behavior. Being someone who works with people who are in need of care, I’m disappointed in the lack of professionalism. I suggest you LISTEN to patients & give them a safe space to speak.
