This place is a mess! I took over IHSS for my wife who is blind from her mother and it took them 3 months after turning in everything to receive a check. And the back hours I have since December 16th 2023 have still not been paid. This is 100 percent illegal to not pay someone for the hours worked. Everything was approved and they claimed they sent my back pay checks to a different address of a previous residence but somehow the checks never arrived. They easily could have put them in my direct deposit which I have set up with them but instead lied about sending the checks out. I said when I spoke to someone see if the checks were cashed which they could tell they weren’t, and then cancel and reissue the checks to my current residence. They told me there is a 5 month backlog on reissues and they would cancel the checks and send me some paperwork to sign and turn in to get the reissues started. Another lie. They are not paying me and continue to lie to me about my hours worked that have still not been paid almost 8 months later. I called the news and am looking for a lawyer to help me cause this is bullshit. And to top it off they are randomly rejecting current timesheets so I have to re submit and not get paid on time to take care of current bills. They have handled this situation like an immature child and are still lying. DO NOT TRUST THEM! I almost forgot. I called our “union” to have them help me and the said they could only help to follow up with them after I have done all the legwork. And the union rep had a very strong Spanish accent and he had to repeat himself a lot for me to understand him. It’s like they set you up for failure from the get go.

IHSS (In-Home Supportive Services)

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the services provided by IHSS and to formally lodge a complaint regarding the poor service and unprofessional attitude of your staff.

Firstly, I have consistently experienced subpar service that falls far below acceptable standards. There have been numerous instances where scheduled visits were either missed or delayed without any prior notice, causing significant inconvenience. Additionally, the quality of care provided during these visits has been inadequate, with caregivers often lacking the necessary skills and attentiveness required to meet my needs.

Furthermore, I have encountered a persistently negative attitude from several members of your staff. Their behavior has been unprofessional, dismissive, and, at times, outright rude. I have been made to feel guilty for requesting assistance and discriminated against based on my needs. This has created an environment that is not only uncomfortable but also distressing.

The mission of IHSS is to support individuals in living independently and with dignity. However, the treatment I have received has been far from dignified, and it undermines the very purpose of your organization. It is crucial that your staff understand the importance of empathy, respect, and professionalism in their interactions with clients.

Google has this information for the location Wrong. The office is located on the 1st floor suite 143 in the back next to where you see this sign Veteran's Service office and red ropes. Please come 30 minutes early otherwise you will be greeted by some rude staff member. Have a nice day

Folks with all those negative comments need to contact the director office and have names..the fat light skin woman..that sounds so ghetto. I'm sure there are a lot of lazy folks there...they don't appreciate their jobs...maybe this unit will move to Fremont Livermore or Pleasanton...bring on folks who will appreciate a job. Just take your compliments to the director...I don't think Council person Reid will do much

This place has been a go to for me since 1998 I enjoy the service worker to be able to help people when they're not able to take care of themselves because I have two major surgery about 20 years ago and I have been in home care of business for well over 25 years and I had to get real humble because the age had to wash me in my medical bed at the hospital that was a very humbling experience and I cried very hard about it because I had been doing it to Grace for years giving people baths and showers that haven't had one in many that was an award the gift people don't understand that anybody can't do this kind of serve people when they don't even don't deserve it because we're not doing this for ourselves we are doing this for our next generation children and grandchildren amen

The employees at this location lack the desire to assist clients the way they lied and told the hiring manager they did. They fail at properly communicating tasks to providers and recipients. I called in one day because it had been 50 days since I completed my finger prints and had yet to receive an update from the office. When I called in I provided my information I was told I had been issued a provider identification number, yet no one had contacted me, I had no idea what type of pay offer was on the table, nothing- which I think is extremely unprofessional. After finding out I had a provider number, I was then told I was missing my application and someone had sent an email informing me I was missing the application. That was a blatant lie. I was never emailed. I asked for the date and time the email was sent and who the sender was, all of a sudden that was classified information. If someone emailed ME, shouldn’t I know who the sender is? I then asked was there a different application other than the one I initially turned in that was needed and the guy hung up. I went to the office to complete the application, again. The second time completing the application was 12/02/2022. On 02/04/2023 I called into the office and was told I would be linked to my recipient within the next three days. Three days later I was never linked. I called in again, and was told to cal back three days later. I call back three days later and was finally linked. This is where the story gets weird. Once I was linked the payroll specialist who assisted me in linking me to a recipient told me one of my documents was missing and scheduled me to come into the office to complete the “missing paperwork.” I complete the missing paperwork only to see that someone at the office had used white out to white out my information. Of course I pointed that out because that was peculiar that I could clearly see my information had been whited out and a copy was made. The whole process started October 01, 2022. It’s now 02/11/2023 and I have not been paid. I have found another job, and have been paid by my current job twice but still awaiting payment from this place. They definitely handle undeserved people unsatisfactorily and I can see why they have the sheriff officers working there I’m sure people become frustrated with their lack of motivation to work and help those in need. I hate that people have to use programs like this for care when they’re older. This is sad.

I find it hard to believe you can't get in touch with anyone over the phone. Phones keep getting you disconnected and there is no way to contact a back up person if your social worker is out. My mom end up in the ICU and I am still unable to get help. They should have at least chat help on line to guide people in the right direction.
