It's a nice place to stay for the most part. The guys who live there seem to get along well and the rules provide some structure but they aren't overwhelming. There are no employees though, just the director (Mel) who comes in on weekdays from 9am to 11am and the "staff" who are there the rest of the time are just guys who live there and they have access to other residents' personal information and access to their medications. I personally had a "staff member" take my whole bag of medications which had my name on it and had my name on all of the bottles out of the building without me knowing and now I am forced to go without several of my medications. The "staff" also show favoritism towards certain residents, for example, since they tore down the shed,I asked if I could bring my bike that my brother in law loaned me and which cost $700.00 inside until I could afford a lock and was told no and yelled at for asking, yet when another resident asked if he could keep a motorcycle inside the house he was allowed to and that's the way the "staff" run it for the most part when the director isn't around. Aside from few difficult "staff", it's a good place to get back on your feet.

Years ago 20 or so I was making some really bad decisions and this place pointed me in the right direction on correcting my life. I was thrown out for not following the rules(MY OWN FAULT)but the structure and self accountability helped me alot. Thanks Mel.

I called 3 times to be able to schedule a pickup for a newer bed set to be donated to that organization. Finally reached the person, was either Chuck or Mark to schedule the appointment and made it for a day at 9am. 11 am came and gone so I called the organization and asked if they were running late or forgot to schedule me?
The gentleman who answered the.phone said he would check on the pickup and took my name and number to call me back with the info. They never called back. I stayed home on my one day off to be able to donate the bed set and this was the outcome. Not to mention I stayed home for hours and inconvenienced my day off to be able to donate to this facility. Sad that the incompetent people that run this place has the residents suffer that could have used a nice bed to lay their head on, even if it's just for one night have to suffer due to their negligence.

I stayed there in 1995 when Teresa was still around and Ron ran it they helped me more than any other place ever. I was just out of Harbor Light and came down from Detroit. I knew not a soul in Monroe. I had a job roofing within a week for Johnny Maze, r.i.p. I had another stay in 05 when me and my wife were having problems. Same thing I was treated how I treated people. Honestly it's been one of the only times in my life I felt success. I am blessed to have had them in my life when I needed direction and help. YESHUA HAMASHIACH lives within the walls of the Philly. No doubt. Stay prayed up.

Stayed there for a short period, was treated with Disrespect by the Director and Staff, would never stay there again, I'd rather stay outside. Maybe they have changed but who knows.
