I am a Court Appointed Special Advocate for a foster youth who lived in three of their facilities. I am beyond disgusted with the lack of accountability, follow-up, and general indifference of the management there. It is crystal clear that this is a for-profit operation, because they don't actually care about the kids in crisis who are misfortunate enough to land there. My youth never got the SIP money that they earned doing extra work there. No one cared when $800 worth of shoes were stolen. My youth wound up in the hospital on a 72 hour hold, and although each and every person in the group home knew me, because i was there every week, no one bothered to let me know. I only found out because I couldn't reach my youth for two days and was freaking out. The Violet house was the absolute worst of the bunch. There was a manager Jennifer(?) there who wouldn't let me take my youth's school assigned laptop with me when they moved out, and insisted that she was going to return it to the school herself. I asked her exactly HOW was my youth supposed to do their homework without it, but she was totally indifferent. These kids have it bad enough without having to live somewhere that is run like a private prison. They probably only owed my youth $20 in SIP money, but they earned it, and were promised it, but it was never paid. I asked "management" for it repeatedly, but it all fell on unresponsive, uncaring ears. I really wish my own life hadn't been so overwhelming at the time, because I would have filed complaints at all of the regulatory agencies. The people who run this place should be concerned about their souls. They are exploiting fragile youth for nothing but money.

It’s hard to watch the kids not get the therapeutic services they need. Each house has a therapist, but they are rarely seen, they do meetings trainings and billing & reports constantly. Management is extremely hands off, generally don’t have a clue what goes on in the houses, yet have plenty to say about it. 99% of the management have completely forgotten what it’s like to be in the houses, so the advice and training they give is completely off point.
People do move up, but they also like to hire from the outside skipping over the well qualified staff. They do not give raises, despite continually adding tasks, additional policy & procedure & put too much work on staff. The pay is pathetic, and the turnover even worse. They always tell staff not to be ‘bodies’ just to fill ratio, yet they hire bodies who have no experience and no interest in the job.
For some, the good news is it’s pretty well impossible to get fired, despite dangerous behavior and doing absolutely nothing, not even showing up. The good solid staff get burned out covering for the bad staff and extra work and there’s no solution.
They cannot keep staff because the work is hard and the pay is peanuts, they have closed houses, leading to the question of the future of the stability of the company. Kids are dangerous and violent at times, often assaulting and injuring staff...and they awol so the covid risk is extremely high.
Not the best interest in the kids who need a good home environment... if anything the kids get worse when they arrive.

If I could give this place a 0 I would my daughter was placed here with Paradise Oaks they had a STRTP program for troubled teens. My daughter was abused over n over by the other youth there, n staff didnt notify me, I found out from my daughter. She was threaten with a object from another youth that went AWOL "I wasn't informed", 2nd incident the child she was roomed with choked her "I wasn't informed". 3rd she was beaten up by a 14-15 yr old troubled youth there attacked her and was able to attack her for more then 30mins with 2 staff there, the staff stated my child's hair was pulled for 30 secs n also another pulling for 1 min. Dragging her by her hair from the door of the facility to the street which was about a half of mile long. Bad place of business the staff there dont care.. The ppl who gave 5 stars seems like a inside job, because that place is horrible for troubled youth.

I spent three days training and they let me go for no exact reason but a gut feeling. I showed up on time everyday with a good attitude and was able to follow most instructions. I should've listened to my gut feeling and not applied to this place. 😆
