I just want to express my deepest gratitude to the staff who donate their time to serve those of us in need. They are so gracious, kind and friendly! I am absolutely appalled by those who have the audacity to complain about the quality or quantity of what they receive! This food bank (my favorite btw) or any food bank is an absolute blessing so how entitled must one be to actually complain. I just do not get it and will be praying for those people. Thanks to all at the Orangevale Fair Oaks Food Bank!

Good, healthy food that pairs well to make meals. They also sometimes include flowers or a growing plant. I've never felt judged by them for having to use a food bank.

Always have a smile on there faces and give you quite a selection of food and goodies if you have pets they give you a bag of dog food or cat food plus a few cans of wet pet food . Today I got alot of oranges and apples I usually don't eat cabbage but I know someone who can use it.so it does not go to waste not do I eat Rainsins, or almonds I still have 3 bags from last time .

I'm sad to say it wasnt worth the line because the last 2 times I arranged transportation to get there less than $20 worth of usable food for me. Today it was less than 10 and that included a pound of ground beef. Quite a difference from the up to $200 once a month when you branched off from the Folsom Food Bank. No reflection on the wonderful volunteers of course

Orangevale food bank has been the difference between eating or not for us. We love the friendly personalities there. I daw a complaint about the fruits and veggies, do like we do, cut them up , throw away the bad parts, and use the rest for soups, pasta sauces , or stir fry.

My teenager put in approximately 70 hours of volunteer work over the past year at this location. Apparently, there was some kind of error or glitch in their system, and when we canceled some of his shifts, they thought he just no-showed. As a result, they cancelled all of his shifts for spring break. I am the parent, and I personally canceled the shifts well in advance. Rather than accept my explanation, I was essentially accused of lying. No matter how much I tried to explain, even offering to provide screenshots of the cancelled shifts, they accepted no responsibility and made me feel horrible. Although I was told that he could still sign up for future shifts, it would have to be on a same day basis,. I explained that same-day basis, you generally cannot get a shift because they are full. I asked why my son is being punished for something that was not his mistake, and it was like talking to a wall. Why they would treat us this way is unimaginable. When I expressed my extreme frustration about how they were handling the situation and questioned whether this was a good fit, given how they were treating us, the person went on to basically say that my son didn’t look like he was enjoying himself anyway. Yet THIS was never brought to my attention? Hmmmmm. I am appalled and deeply offended. What an operation. What a way to treat people. Especially people who are giving up their time to help you. I can only hope that the person I spoke to was a poor representation of the food bank and not a manager or owner or anyone of importance. And I can only hope they don’t treat another family this way in the future.
