I'm incredibly disappointed with the bargain basement. We used to love supporting this thrift store but I won't be bringing our items here any longer. I understand it costs money to run a business but as a thrift store that was recently operating with prices at $1.50 for a doll I cannot justify donating items any longer when they now ask $9 for the same doll that could be bought new with no dirt, all its hair, and all the accessories for $13. We brought in a whole pile of children's items including a ride on toy and they pulled it onto the floor while I was still in the store shopping and said they could charge $25 for it because someone had listed the same thing for $25 on eBay. They suggested maybe I'd want to buy it but I didn't even spend that much on it in the first place. Friends have mentioned similar issues where they walk out empty handed because they find stickers on items they need listing online prices instead of actual prices for our market area. If you want to make eBay money open an eBay account and list them there. It is absolutely unconscionable to charge convenience and collectors prices at a thrift store that is supposedly here to serve the community by reselling merchandise it gets for free. Instead of helping the community as they used to they let items sit on shelves for literal months for the right buyer to walk in willing to pay a ridiculous price. I'd love to patronize them again if they change their pricing tactics back to something that the average SWVA salary could afford instead basing prices off of whatever the highest bidder in the entire world was willing to pay on eBay

A very clean and well organized thrift store. Sheree is so friendly and helpful. Unfortunately prices are triple what they used to be a couple of years ago. The only time you can afford to shop there is Thursday for the clothing bag sale.

I like going in to the Bargain Basement for the variety of items I can find on a regular basis. It's organized a little differently than when it first opened but that's ok. I encountered a nice man outside in this particular visit who was giving away odds & ends of Rubbermaid & Tupperware away. I took a few good pieces & thanked him!
