I am a combat veteran who proudly served our country and was honorably discharged. After several years of difficulty readjusting from war, I needed help. I was happy to be selected for a New Life K9 service dog. I was treated with respect. I was taught the skills my dog could provide me and the benefits. The staff were very helpful in guiding me with my new learning so that my dog and I could create a bond. My hats off to the staff and volunteers. Art Martinez

New Life K-9 Educators are amazing their dedication to our community is from the 💜! Our Veterans & First Responsers 🚨 appreciate this program it has changed lives 🐶. Also I would like to thank business for welcoming our K-9’s. New Life K9s helps solve two monumental problems in our society. First, our veterans and first responders live with PTSD and other mental health challenges because of the things they've witnessed and experienced. Second, our society incarcerates people but rarely offers them opportunities to change, grow, and give back to the community.

New Life K9s provides service dogs to veterans and first responders at no charge, which is wonderful. They also have incarcerated individuals train the dogs. For 2 years, inmate handlers experience the unconditional love and acceptance that dogs offer, plus they learn develop important personal and vocational skills. In my opinion, New Life K9s is a win/win for our community. I have seen the difference they make!

New Life K9s trains Service Dogs for Veterans and First Responders with PTSD and GIVES the dog to the recipient at no charge. As a recent recipient of a New Life K9s dog myself, my life has literally been given back to me again. I'm able to live a normal life again and do all of the things that people take for granted. I loved the staff and the mission of New Life K9s so much I became a volunteer, and it's like a big family. If you are or if you know a Veteran or First Responder with PTSD that you think could benefit from a Service Dog, contact New Life or go on their website and fill out an application for a Service Dog. And if you want to volunteer for an important cause, there's a volunteer application on their website as well. Thank you New Life K9s for the important work you do!

I am a wife of a Veteran who received a very well trained Standard Poodle as his service dog. Not only did New Life K9 trainers educate the Veterans through an 80 hour training, they were compassionate and passionate about their service to Veterans and their love for dogs and bond based teaching. We are so lucky to have this organization in our community of San Luis Obispo, California. My husband has a K9 friend and a service dog who is giving back to my husband the way my husband gave to us and our country.

Anytime a group of people can do something positive for another group of people who defended our great country with their lives, is a slam dunk for me. NLK9 works hard every day for people and animals to change lives.

Poor Trainer Supervisors + very poor communication = Poorly Trained Dogs. They do not appreciate their volunteers. Do not waste your time, effort or money on these people.
