With the last 4 years, I personally as a widow in my '60s, would never have made it without the Neighborhood House. Their personnel is kind, knowledgeable and ready to help in any way that they can.

Whomever the Committee is have very unrealistic expectations.Whomever donates does not have a clue of what people’s needs are and they don’t care. They wanna see your bank statement and where your money goes but have no clue of how you got to where you are.Everyone says they understand but then don’t help and how many times do you have to meet with someone in order to help them. Not necessary at all.I’m actually gonna report them.It needs to be ran by people who actually care.

Everyone is nice. Food pantry is a nice option to have. But the utility help is not that great of an options. I was asking for help on a $500 bill I had because we fell behind because I am waiting on disability due to a medical emergency that happened in April. They came back to me 4 days before my shut off notice and told me the committee said no due to a few loans in my name and one bad month of finances. My case worker isn’t even in the office today when she emailed me. I am unable to work or get money and now they want p notes from people in my lives that are helping with bills. I shouldn’t have to jump through hoops or explain everything for some help.

Everyone here is super helpful and extremely nice and more importantly understanding. No judgement at all. They are all eager and excited to help a friend in need. To walk through the door with my head hanging down is an understatement. Everyone was so kind and helpful. It quickly picked my spirits up.

Diane actually laughed at us. Laughed. I still can’t believe it. I just got home from cancer surgery and can’t drive so we called for food and diaper delivery. She said we had to come in for paperwork. It’s always the paperwork. Well when we said we couldn’t drive and didn’t have a sitter she laughed. No joke. Laughed. I was so mad I was laughing too. If you want to jump thru hoops to get a box of food this is the place for you.
