Their Safety Around Water program for our third graders is amazing. The instructors are wonderful at requiring active listening during instruction and encouraging the students to step out of their comfort zone just a bit while in the water and in a safe environment. We appreciate the program being affordable for our students. Our students learned a lot!

My story goes back to when the Y was at the fitness center. When I first moved to Muskegon in 1991, I joined along with my toddler and met a friend who is still in my life after all these years. As the years passed I met many people who became my friends. It was like a second family. We supported each other, encouraged each other and cried with each other. Some of my best memories. When the Y had to sell the fitness center I stuck around because of the people, but wished the Y folks were still in charge. COVID ended that, but I cherish those memories. To this day, I, my husband and several friends call it the Ex Y. 😁

The facilities are clean, membership prices are average compared to other YMCAs, and the staff is helpful. The pool is a little smaller than I would prefer, but still a decent size. Workout equipment is nice quality and drinking fountain water is cold. Racket ball courts are clean and track is decently sized.

Edit to add: 404 page not found when you click on healthy kids programs. You have no classes for children? Your swimming classes are at some school somewhere else? Muskegon..

I think the trainers takeover the gym in the morning at 5:30 don't give the early people a chance to work out before they take up all the machines and that's not fair to usalso you're not allowed to even talk or listen to your music or comment on anyting or you'll be threatened about getting kicked out I feel if you want to talk to someone you talked to him in your office not on the floor a lot of my friends have went other places to work out because they don't like the tension in the game it's completely unacceptable someone need to deal with ithe management thank you for listening to my issues

Our Y is one of the leading non facility YMCAs in the country. They have a TON of incredible programs that have a tremendous positive impact on our community!

Nice office space! Seems that the Muskegon Y works mostly in the community, rather than having a standalone multi purpose building!
