Been there once with a friend. Never been homeless before up until now, lost both of my parents due to pandemic and siblings all walked away from me, I didn't know there was kind people out there who would help those whom are either homeless or just struggling just so they can get back correctly, it's been wonderful to see such a beautiful place like Miriam's Kitchen and the volunteers to come and help and support those that are in needs. I am very grateful though I am still struggling to get out of the homeless lifestyle and become home-ful I will definitely continue to return to Miriam's.

Miriam's Kitchen is doing an amazing job. WHY have these US Citizens not been afforded the same benefits as the illegals in NY? Free hotel rooms and now they have a debit card loaded with federal funds to help them pay for a place to live. Please advise if I have been misinformed? So, I can smack my messenger silly. If this is true, I am scratching my head as many other American citizens are also doing. These are my tax dollars created from my hard work. Why not ask us how we want our tax dollars spent (yearly tax forms should have a survey of what is considered the top 10 issues we are facing). US Citizens should rate those issues from 1-10. The government that is supposed to work for us should not make a determination from our selections, using a tally from the top 5 selected issues that are most important to us. We need to stop flying by the seat of our pants. I am a tried-and-true democrat but would be at the front of the line for a candidate from any party that has a mission to work for the people. Liz Chaney would be a great candidate on an independent ticket. For example, I am sure Seniors would greatly appreciate a food stamp card funded every month with at least $200. We have footprints on our back from inflation walking all over each of us. No American should NEVER have to make a decision to buy medicine or eat. No child should EVER go to bed hungry. Shame on you the United States Federal and State Government!!!!!! When did what is right stop being the norm? There is no right way to do the wrong thing.

I have been volunteering at Miriam's Kitchen for the last 7 years as Sous Chef and Dining Room Captain and am committed and devoted to their mission and ministry of ending homelessness in the DMV and also feeding the homeless and hungry. I will be volunteering here forever. Also of note: all the food serves to the homeless guests of Miriam's Kitchen are made from scratch from ingredients provided locally by farmers, local markets and grocery stores, and so forth. Even the juice served is generally fresh. It's pretty much a completely foodie experience each and every time.

I'm Blown Away by the good at this place is doing. Homeless fighting for human rights on DC streets for years, away these last 2 years, and back seeing the population in this place, people that have grown so much. It is quite extraordinary. Thank you for your work. Tho Amy and one other need to remember we clients are equal, not lesser, Souls, worthy of being treated with the same respect that they would show their boss's boss's boss, as the other staff do..

Great place to eat for the homeless black, white or Latino. Co Ed. Or you just would like to try a new dish. Beautiful Latina chefs in training. Volunteers from GW University and other organizations.
